Finally finished 庆余年。

It takes about 1-2 hours just to finish 1% and I'm already quickly reading.

Have to say this series is epic. Definitely the best Chinese novel I've read. Though I find the ending bit lackluster.

That was the very first one I actually watched from start till the end...😁

The most recent one is Flight To You...quite cute and touching with  some hidden societal messages in the storyline...googled the lead actress profile and found her real life rather heartwrenching...the series macam depict her life struggles especially so after the loss of her beloved mother...

Ok was inspired by some of the bookworm threads in HWZ.

Reading books maybe considered old fashioned in this day and age. I was clearing out some books and comics out from my parents' storeroom as they are undergoing renovation, so was inspired to start this thread.

You can strongly recommend a book or the book you are currently reading.

Of course there are sites like goodreads. But I'm curious if any of you still read actively. Any genre is fine except for tiko ones.

I read mostly fantasy/urban fantasy/thrillers and more "serious" books.

Currently I'm reading this. Thinking, fast and slow by Danial Kahneman.

Do chip in with what you are reading or what you think is a MUST READ!  [grin]

is this good?

For last few months I've been reading 职业魔法师 but stopped 2 months ago at chapter 2400+.

Then now reading 龙血战神. Around 1600+ chapters lol.

these 2 are like the few most upvoted stories.

This 1 is abit of Science friction/ fantasy.

First 2/3 is good. Last 1/3 getting too 夸张。and I stop.

Many popular Chinese title have this problem , they refuse to end and keep leeching income.

If u like 修仙type. Can try 凡人修仙传。

Wow finally finished 择天记。took a long break, finished the last quarter of the series after about few days of reading.

I find the theme of the story is more consistent. The last chapter could be better but I always find 猫腻 likes to end on a 漏风 ending.

Have to say dunno how he plans his stories man. The depth of the plot twists always staggers me. Something he writes in the first chapter or some random cryptic stuff said ties in like the last 2 books of the series. Really can't think of any English language story with such a multitude of side characters and how they all interlink.

A re-print after the author passed on.

Brought back a lot of memories of simpler times, without mobile phones and social media.
