Had some jerking n vibrations in mid to high gear range during drive. Brought my wagon in next day and it stayed overnight for clutch + turbo charger change.  Mileage is under 50,000 km for 1.5 yr old car.  On flip side, the agent is pretty co-operative in allowing warranty claims. So u decide if Hyundai is worth it to own and drive.

Comparing this level of service to the VW DSG fiasco, I must say that Komoco sounds decent.

And it is not only VW. Check out this thread;

ALL cars will have issues. It is either isolated mechanical failures or systemic bad designs/manufacturing problems. The VW DSG and Ford Powershifts seems to be bad designs. Coupled with poor warranty follow up, can be super jialat for consumers.

Hello everyone,I'm am looking to get a new i30. Does anyone here own the red (fiery red) model? want to know if the red is more towards an orange kind of red? or the ferrari kind of red? or maroon red etc? Best if you got pictures of it?

Didn't get an opportunity to see the actual color. and is the door handle chrome? or red? and the lines along the windows, are they chrome too?

Also one more question, if the SE offered to take away the free servicing package for a lower price, is it worth taking? or more advisable to keep the free servicing package? (basically means pay for it since car price will go up)

I'm first car owner, so not too sure if its better to go back to AD for servicing or find own workshop outside to do from day 1.

Thanks in advance!

I remember KMC have some paint samples on display, u can drop by and ask to see the Fiery Red sample.

Latest batch's door handles are in body paint, no longer chrome.

Depends how much discount they dangled for removing servicing package. Outside servicing cost $100-200 per 10k. I rather take the discount than the service package IMO

Can take off roughly 1. 1k for 2 years servicing.

Actually how does this free servicing work? Is it just the regular servicing, you go back they do for you free? And anything weird or wrong can just go back anytime within the 2 years to check and service for free?

I complete noob on this

Fiery red should be the same as the red avante you see on the roads.

Free servicing should cover the base cost and any parts changed during servicing. In your case, since they only offered 1k~ discount, I would keep it since the savings compared to outside servicing is minimal.

Any parts that failed due to problem and not wear and tear is covered by the 5 years warranty instead 🙂

Yes, a facelift is due later in 2020. Revised front-end, digital speedo cluster (like the Santa Fe) and widescreen headunit.

Likely to arrive in SG in around late 2021.

If the cost is only $1000, I would take it anyway... the Komoco free servicing only includes labour but not parts and engine oil. So you still have to buy the oil and air filters and engine oil, either from them or from stockists. Buying from stockists and using cheap synthetic engine oil like Carlube will present significant savings over the pricing from Komoco. Hence $1000 will be significant even if you service outside. The cost of changing oil and parts alone (without cost of the parts themselves) should be quite minimal. Even if they charge you $100, you get to do it 10 times. And most of us drive about 15,000 km a year or less so that you service about once a year only...

Mmmm actually the free servicing for 10k 20k 30k etc includes the oil, filters and labour. These are the free 1yr 2 yr even 5 yr 7yr servicing packages u get depending on how good or bad sales are ar kmc.

The free "labour" vouchers are what you are probtalking about, that also comes free on car collection.

In the case of Daniel's, it is 2 years of FREE servicing package, NOT the 1000km, 5000km and 10000km free labor voucher. So it is worth it to keep instead of getting additional $1000 discount

It depends if u can clock a high mileage in a year. If not, I'd rather take the $1K discount. It doesn't cost u much to service this car outside. In addition  having the car serviced at 3rd party workshops gives u the flexibility of choosing your own oil, filter, etc.

Yeah. I just checked. Its the servicing package where they cover the oil, filter labour and whatever parts. Basically follow service manual.

Agree. But I eventually decided to just take the package. I still new to car and what to do. So I guess I'm going to just take their package first. Let them handle everything. Then take my time to slowly figure out what's needed, learn more and which ws to use etc.
