BanCoe Hypersonic September 22, 2016 Share September 22, 2016 yup! that era when . . . . - we can still buy chow kuey tiow with an egg or two . . . . - that uncle pushes his cart with full of paper-made masks for tikam tikam - kites battles with glass-soaked threads - playing marble balls to win that few coins placed in the drawn circle on floor - fighting spider that was kept in that match sticks box - receives paper ticket snapped by bus conductors - that prelude piece with li da sha's story tellings from redifuson, then followed by ghost stories after 8pm on wednesday nights - orchard road was no match for gay world city - kids very t-shirt printed with justice bao's face - kids favourite toy was once the . . . . 明月湾刀 that can flip into 2 pieces, diagonally or double !!!! . . . . and many more, if you were there! that priceless memory PG detected .... games wise Kuti Kuti (those colourful transparent small toys) which you need to push over your opponents and buying whole large cards and cutting them into smaller ones and paper bullets and hantam bola, and getting those inflatatable Batman/Robin/SuperMan toys from the real pasar malams and those tidbits/snacks layed out in the large transparent table with all the Asam and Buah Kanna's and all races watching movies by P Ramlee/MGR and Chinese Dialect ones with subtitles ... Yes those were the days; and getting your first pair of jeans was like the rage in the early 70's and always with an Orange T shirt somehow to go with it... A_korusawa 5th Gear September 24, 2016 Share September 24, 2016 (edited) Bro .. 20c each, you buy 4 for $1 lugi leh ... What is the white sweet crackers ?? Peanut candy ? ahhhhh! so I have been cheated since young, ! not peanut candy.... its usually sold next to the ting ting tang or even together the white sweet cracker (similar to that ting ting tang), seller chopped into smaller pieces and wrapped them with the po piah skin..... some buyers will request for powdered/ground peanut spread prior wrapping with the po piah skin. you bite thru' the po piah skin into that crunchy sweet cracker.... selling at 50c, 80c, or even $1.20 I couldn't locate this at all since y2k......last recall they revived it at the cny stalls in marina few years back also, those were the days whereby you can venture into labrodor shore park where you can actually hopped onto the desserted/parke sampan w/o permission. and lay your net for the flower crabs there.... I manage to have a glimpse on the sunset pasar malams in great world, the wrestling matches in gay world (our home grown champion..... kungfu lee !!!!!) ah neh delivers fresh milk in glass bottles, and tong tong chiang parades whenever 1st and 15th of lunar month..... and many many more . . . . Cypress 4th Gear June 29, 2017 Share June 29, 2017 Chicken in a Biskit is back! http://www.tnp.sg/lifestyle/makan/chicken-biskit-back-singapore-heres-where-get-it?utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#link_time=1498652588 Charmaine Soh Jun 28, 2017 08:05 pm For folks who grew up snacking on Chicken In A Biskit, there is no longer a need to buy the savoury snack off Amazon or haul it back from the United States. The well-known childhood snack disappeared from the shelves of major supermarkets like FairPrice and Cold Storage in August 2015, as it was discontinued by the supplier. Now, Chicken In A Biskit is back in Singapore, exclusively at all Giant stores. A Giant spokesman said: "We noticed that there is still a demand as there were many inquiries for this product, so Giant started sourcing for it. "Working closely with our supplier, Giant managed to bring this product directly from the US, and it is back on the shelves now." Priced at $3.50 each, the boxes have proved popular since returning to shelves about a week ago. Singapore Jun 29, 2017 "The response for the biscuit was overwhelming on the first weekend," said the spokesman. "However, understanding that this is a well-received and much-awaited item by many of our customers, we are working closely with our supplier to ensure that there is sufficient stock at all our stores." Mr Khim Yap, 46, director of a marketing communications agency, has been a fan of the snack since he was in primary school. He said: "In the past, my mum would only buy it every now and then, so it was a real treat to eat it... "Now that it is back, I am excited, and I cannot wait to see if the taste is still the same."
