What car would you buy with 220k

Subaru XT @ $130K with 238 ponies under the bonnet suffices for me.

 

Japanese reliability, AWD, Spacious interior, commanding view ahead, turbo power yet insurance is not as high as WRX or Evo. Most importantly, great for breaking legal speed limits (or in diplomatic terms - clear carbon) up North

 

The remaining $90K in savings... whoever needs me to sponsor you a car, PM me please.

This is a tricky price level in that you need to make decisions between sizes and between AD / PI.

 

Taking a price range of $180-220k, and disregarding possible discounts, my choices will be the following:-

 

Sedans

- options are Audi A4, VW Passat, merc C class, merc CLA, Q50, Jaguar XE, merc e class diesel (PI), BMW 3 series

- choice: (1) e class diesel (PI), (2) c class

 

SUVs

- options are Jeep Cherokee, LR discovery sport, merc GLC (PI), BMW x3, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60

- choice: (1) merc GLC (PI), (2) BMW x3

- Lexus NX would have been the first choice if it was in the price range

 

Fun cars

- options mini Cooper s, merc CLA shooting brake, BMW 4 series coupe (PI), WRX, golf R, focus rs, civic type R, scirocco r, Lexus IS turbo

- choice: BMW 4 series (overall), golf R (if wife has no input)

With 220k, go to merc, bmw, audi, lexus and volvo showroom la. Sure can find one suits u. U go toyota, kia or Mitsubishi don't have car at 220k price range
