Lucky we have efficient scdf team, I could only imagine that the fire may spread if not for our super efficient fire fighters fighting fire. This fire is no joke and can spread to even bigger fire easily..

Pity the workers in the neighbouring buildings all will be affected too with the road closures and investigation vehicles and others involved in the investigation.....etc and this will continue for quite some time until if they decide to demolish the building and or how to clear the debris inside; I'm sure everything will be so waterlogged and electricity too might be affected; so many utility depts might be involved; This is a learning experience of how heavy density (though this is not really heavy density area) will affect so many others nearby

Really bad fire, burnt whole day until the wee hours!

Damages must be very high!  Wonder what causes the fire.

Those working in the CK building will have few days off liao.

I read that:

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said in a Facebook post at around 2.45pm that the fire was "raging on the 3rd and 4th floor of No. 39, Tampines Street 92". The blaze affected the fourth to sixth floors of the building, which were used as a warehouse.

So meaning, the fire started at 3rd storey which is the office? Then spread to the warehouse on 4th-6th storey?

I don't understand why there must be casualties in a big fire?

Ok Ok, relac. No one was seriously injured or die in the fire. Heng ah.

Sixty-seven myCK Department Store staff and three visitors were in the building at the time of the incident. No one was injured, although a firefighter was taken to hospital for heat exhaustion.

I believe they have practices Fire drills lots of times... That's why when tio small fire they all evacuate already..

You got attend fire drill? Else next time, you will be the casualty when there is fire.

In some of the photos can see cracks in the building already. So I guess the structure is affected by the fire.

Hairline crack? Maybe can ask cow negotiate with developer to RMA the building.

But this time send workers down instead.

Kudos !!

While we are enjoying sleep, they are fighting with the fire ....

Respect to these ppl risking at their own lives to put peace and safety in our Singapore :))

They probably have rotated shift. The initial batch who responded to the fire may have left while another take over.

Unlikely the fire fighters are able to withstand the exhaustion for more than 12 hours, not including the time they reported to the station.
