LG today announced V20 coming to singapore on november 5. good timing to announce new phone to woo samsung note users. lol

How much did the Note7 cost? This V20 is $1000 and comes with a headphone set which I probably won't use.

Honestly, I'd prefer the Mi5s to be released ASAP. So much cheaper for the same features.

HTC phone exploded while charging, HTC singapore tried to cover up incident. after samsong, new saga coming ?

I was charging this phone with its official HTC charger for about 4 hours when I noticed the built-in battery had ballooned so much that it had pushed the non-removal back plate out of the phone.

After removing the phone from the charging unit, I attempted to pressed the inflated battery down as I was hoping to get the back plate back onto the phone. That was when the battery expelled sparks and smoke then exploded into flames.

A lithium battery when get pregnant means a breakdown.

You pressed it back, means asking for trouble.

I had a lithium jump starter from PRC that did this.

The case suddenly buldge out during usage, not charging.

I removed the battery and found 1 of the  3 cells had ballooned.

I disposed of the whole thing carefully.

Read from korean news. Likely this is the cause.

Note7 uses dual curve display and a curved back, and that they are also trying to make it more compact while maintaining their water-resistance feature, so they have to seal their internal parts tightly thus compressing the lithium battery pack, which is unhealthy for any lithium battery.

If the user were to hit or drop the Note7, it will cause a short circuit internally and thus causing the battery to explode.

That's why even the replacement set also has exploding cases, as the fault doesn't lies on the battery supplier but lies on the design architecture in the phone itself.

Default also lie on consumer as well. Demanding phone to work even more than a laptop. Laptop don't use GPS, video cam, those tap and pay app.....haha

I think probably during the manufacturing process in vaccum sealing the contents, maybe some of the cells are partly damaged.

Cos it seems most of the cases arised spontaneously during charging. In an aeroplane or in a car, doesn't seem like it was knocked around then.

My wife has been using her Note 7. No diff between the set before and after.

I am also thinking of getting one myself.

A lot of Note 7 were sold in SG. Waiting for an exploding one outside USA or one in SG...

Give up. Gonna look for other Android alternatives...

Which means to say better stay away from curve phone and buy normal flat phone.

it's a flaw in design and engineering unless curve phone maker can overcome this

i find the curve on both sides not much functional nor value creation leh

stylo mylo only ...

Samsung made their own battery for the Note7 it's not sourced from a 3rd party battery maker. I believe how they made the battery could be the cause of the fires.
