Hihi gents!

Always intrigued by the 159.

Although 2 close friends have owned lovingly and surrendered themselves over the jap camp eventually, I still have an itch for stick shift.

Can buy? I'm on w204 now..tks!

Hey Alfaman!!

Keep the 204, and add on this one :P

Be prepared to service a few things, including coolant pipes etc. Cam sensor modules and gaskets (in general)

Not sure if you want this for the last year, or intend to renew its COE.

Hi Saabretooth..manual is misplaced by previous owner. Agent stated timing belt change at 50k but for AS, its 80k... my car currently is 54k.... when is it advisable to change... appreciate your thots bros....

you can dl the manual here..............

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/449436/Alfa-Romeo-159.html

No worries... will do it soon at 60k....

A stupid question..... can the fuel cap be locked? I can't seem to lock it with the ignition key...

No stupid questions only stupid answers AO.

The fuel filler cap locks when doors are locked. If it isnt locking then probably the plunger is jammed. A bit of WD40 should sort it out

Cheers TM :)

The brake caliper looks like Brembo but it has the Alfa Romeo label printed on it.

So, not sure if its Brembo.

My apologies for being so ignorant.

If you have the 330mm discs and the four pot front calipers then yes they are indeed Brembo. My advice is to upgrade your discs and pads all around to Tarox black pads as I have done and Tarox drilled / slotted discs. AS can do for you. You wont belive the difference in stopping power. Oh and do fit some decent rubber (Pirelli PZ or Michelin PS4).

Heres a picture of my front calipers and discs on my 19" Prodrive Rims :)

Hello everyone,

I need your help!

EA was having a promo for servicing recently. So I signed up and went down for the service.

Car was driving fine before I went down, but after I sent it for service, I was told that computer diagnosis shows that there are some failures on my lambda sensor, variation etc.. And that it will cause a breakdown.

Lo & behold, my car broke down the very next day when I was in JB!!

This definitely got me very frustrated as my car was driving fine until EA did my servicing..

Now my car is unable to start, engine can be cranked, but it just won't start.

Anybody have any advice?

This post is not meant to say EA did a bad job.. No..

I was merely saying that they knew that my vehicle was not in good shape and that they were able to pin point my issues.

I've seemed advise from other mechanics before and they were not able to give me a proper diagnosis.

Hope nobody will be mistaken.

I may not have phrased it in the correct manner. Apologies!

Hi, it might be the fuel pump perhaps. The workshop should be able to diagnose, but EA will be more expensive.

Sounds like fuel pump problem.

Mine also died without warning.

Can't pick this up from CEL errors one.

Fuel pump in Alfa seem to be a weak link.....

In SG, the fuel is so clean ....no idea why fuel pump keep failing for Alfas

Bro, didn't mean to say EA no good.

I typed my earlier post today in haste.

Their service is good. It just frustrated me that the car has been giving me so many problems..

EA managed to advise me accordingly but I meant to say that they could tell me almost so accurately that something is going to give way and truth be told, it did.

Anyway, I went back to EA to replace my fuel pump and all is well again.

They were quick to help me rectify the problem and they were patient to assist me with matters of my car.

I hope no one else will get a wrongful impression from my posting earlier.
