yalor, should get AD and LTA to list on SGX.  And hor, according to LTA F&F, there are 40000 less cars now compare with end 2015.

Must rub eyes and see again, 40K car vanished and COE still like that ........

Poor SE no business so started new account to post here lah... he need to keep the crowd coming in this weekend as yesterday started new order book for next 2 weeks.

Like that buy car in Singapore is really tough, not only see COE, still have to consider how SGD move against foreign currency, nowadays life is really complicated... So next month SGD appreciating or depreciating? Should buy JPY car or KRW car or maybe EUR car then most wuhua?

Oh ....... was my fav until last year.  I love the Touran .....

VW Group just agreed to pay US USD16.8B and now US also demand VW to buy back all the affected lower CC vehicles.  And that is only for US, the rest have not count yet.

Think I better stay with the Korean or Japanese .....

Not sure whether to spend 100K for a car, afterall, if I have 100K changed into 10 dollar notes, I think maybe can wall papered my home with the note paste to the wall.

Anyway, congra !!

Just collected a VW as it is more wuhua than Jap car now.

Give 3 more examples:

Toyota Altis 1.6 Elegance

23 July 2015 - 120,888 G-COE, rebate @ 54k, COE was $55,889

22 July 2016 - 126,888 G-COE, rebate @ 51k, COE now is $52,503

Mazda 3 1.5 Sedan Standard

28 July 2015 - $100,888, COE was $55,889

2 Aug 2016 - $103,800 NG-COE, COE now is $52,503

Kia Forte K3 EX

24 July 2015 - $94,999 G-COE, rebate @ 54k, COE was $55,889

22 July 2016 - $101,999 G-COE, rebate @ 45k, COE now is $52,503

No need see COE too much, car price don't really follow also. Once SE offer you a good deal, grab and go. COE drop don't mean you lose out.

go check the sgd/yen chart and you will know why price is higher now...

Just collected a VW as it is more wuhua than Jap car now.

good luck....

should check the OMV rather than the currency chart.

Sometime OMV lower despite Yen appreciate.

This may due to car manufacturer give discount or cut something.

I would never buy a VW even tho it is one of the cheapest continental brands out there.  There s  reason why things are cheaper, surely the manufacturer cuts corners here n there during production.  You never know what else did VW cheated other than just FC.  I have personally seen a VW(think its a golf or polo) in a Malaysian workshop under repair.  One of the 4 pistons broke, yes pistons in the engine broke.  I asked the workshop boss and he says its 'very common'.  not the first VW they have dealt with from customers.  Fark..if a piston can snap, what else can?  drive shaft?

The only great thing with VW is that they have very good skilled workshop. Always full..

I have once owned a VW from brand new, then discarded it after a couple of years.

NEVER AGAIN A VW man!!!

It is the most unreliable car that I had owned and driven in my 30+ years of car ownership and driving in Singapore!

What if COE shoot up ??

All risk management, margin also factor in with buffer. Which is more costly? Now COE cost 57k if expire mean 57k. Will COE rise in 3 mth time won't be 57k become 114k right

Wrong leh, if you bidded COE @57K and it expired, you ONLY lose the 10K deposit.

I read before I bidded in June.  Heng ah, never got it.

A fun fact for those "waiting for COE to drop"

When I bought my car last year, it was selling for 110k at 56k rebate. I bought a lower tier at 104k and secured COE at 57k.

I see the price list now, exact same model now still selling at 110k, rebate dropped to 50k, and COE now is 52.5k.

So waiting for what? :yeah-im-not-drunk:

It depends, those who waited and bought 6 months after you did would have paid about 10k less than you did. So it is not about waiting but luck and timing.

Ya, despite the so negative story about VW, about 250~300 VW sold in SG every month by VW SG with a 28~90K profit margin (before discount) as reported by LTA lor.

That is so strange.

It would be in the dealer's interest (profit) to bid for COE early, if premium is expected to go up!

The 6-month validity for TCOE can be appealed and LTA would usually extend it, to 1 year even, if justified reason(s) could be provided ... e.g. car assembly plant was shut down temporarily due to flood, workers went on strike, container ship sank, terrorist attack, etc.

Yeah, it might be in the dealer's interest to bid for the COE if the premium goes up, however, it is all speculation, for me, if i do not want to worry about the fluctuation, i will go for guaranteed COE with reputable PI.  In this circumstance, at least, i feel more assured :XD:

Haiya .. U win some U lose some.. Things tend to even things out over your car ownership. I had $12K COE. I have $65K coe and now I have $47K COE.. Most important to note is car is an expense. Can afford good and if can buy a lower COE great.
