Clean energy meaning solar panels?

Quite a few companies on this liao ...

Anyway, maybe one day we will see all buildings' windows are made up solar panels ... then it will be really cool :)

This down turn in O&G is the perfect opportunity

for capital to be diverted from polluting energy

to move to clean renewable energy. This is capitalism

at its best. Diverting capital from non profitable to

profitable industries. Take advantage of change.

:D

But this downturn is in itself created by excess supply so it is also detrimental to alternative energies.

thats why our pap is helping us to save the earth by increasing petrol tax and refusing to lower electricity prices.

We must thank them when they raise prices cos they know its affordable for us :D

solar is bad for earth.... not the sun, but the manufacturing of panels...

and so many of them went burst trying to lower the cost

water, wind (SG have none, cos we are too sheltered) and probably nuclear is the new energy

That's true ...

And, now most of the solar panels can be leased from supplier here ...

We don't have much wind, left only water ... which we should be considered as expert ...

As for nuclear, hope we don't have this, as the impact will be great if there is a leak ....

With 5.5m people surely we have a lot of natural gas?

Wind and solar are the ones that come to mind but

there are so many more alternatives. We can lay

piezoelectric wire on the roads, every time a car drives

over it, electricity is created. Just like those kids blinking

shoes. But the one we should start is connecting the hot

water pipe to the aircon condenser. Every time you on

the aircon you get free hot water for the shower.

Another one we have is geo thermal. Put a pipe deep into

the ground and use the heat from the earth's core and you

get free hot water. We also got access to the sea and can

put the snake there so tides and currents will move the snake

and create electricity. With so many people paying Pokemon Go

we need more energy now than ever.

I think we also need to strengthen our building code

to make energy efficient buildings. All windows should

have film to keep the heat out. Showers with increase

pressure from air pumps to save water. With O&G down

this is the best time to look at renewable energy. This is

the dawn of the golden age of renewable energy.

We also need more free water. My glass of ice coke was

wet on the side, the glass wan't leaking so where did the

water come? The air? There is so much water in the air

and if we only took it out of the air we get a less humid and

sticky country and don't need to import so much of the stuff.

Really?

[confused]

LPG is in a glut phase now, expected to last till 2020.

Whole world solar industry went bottoms up after chinese started producing solar panels with massive govt subsidy. Below the europeans/american cost price.

Anyway for Europe, they mostly going to wind turbine. USA has solar energy but at small levels only and mostly at California.

The worldwide solar panel industry makes the O&G situation here look like masak masak only.

I believe years ago, EDB got this german solar company to setup some 2 billion dollar R&D and manufacturing facility here, but the industry went tits up after that. Never got to fruition.

Elon Musk recently bailed out his solar city company.

You much more optimistic than me.

Frankly if the world was more interested in clean energy, many of the engineering problems would have been reduced long ago.

Just that the $$ and self interest has always been elsewhere.

Too little, too late.

Our govt always help us prepare for WCS. They know rationing won't work in today's society.

Petrol is always expensive here in SG  [laugh]

I have a tip for Mr Elon Musk.

On my grandfather's bicycle he had a dynamo that powered his lights.

The faster he paddled the brighter the light.

Mr Musk should put a big dynamo on each of the wheels of his car.

The faster the car goes, the faster the wheels goes and more electricity

is generated to recharge the car batteries. So to save the world electric

cars need to be driver faster to product more electricity so the batteries

don't run out.

I think electric cars already use regenerative braking. Not sure about the teslas though.

Cash up or ship out: It's the big O&M squeeze post-Swiber

These O&M players face four key challenges: high debt-to-equity gearing of over 100 per cent; low or negative cash flows; short-term debt of above S$100 million; and/or medium-term-note redemption deadlines running through 2019.

James, won't depressed oil and gas prices defer the switch to renewables?

They should unload the containers and sell the goods.

Pay off any unpaid debts.
