So he still get to keep his license? Also what do they means he come from good family?

 

Good family as in elite family?

 

If it is elite family then got connection that's why sentence like so out of ordinary? If normal people, most likely license will be suspended right? Not asking for jail term but the least the judge could do is to suspend his driving license. Let him feel the pain, and then to go through whole process to retake TP again. Like that he will learn the lesson.

 

What undertake not to drive for 12 months and supervised probation? He still get to keep his license and can still drive. What if let's say he ti ki and drive out and kanna road block, TP check his license still valid and waive for him to go. He will learnt the lesson meh? In fact no lor, he will think he will always have his parents to protect him even when he commit quite serious traffic offence or other things.

 

If judge think of not want to let him retake license can, suspend 11months lor. It is better then what 12 months supervised probation as he still be able to drive (although he promised not to, but who knows when he go back home and then itchy and hand and go drive? He will still not be faulted by TP).

If get stopped by TP under probation, they will know cuz its in their system. So the probation officer will be informed and he might get punished lo. Cuz that is one of the things he promised not to do under probation.

Even the government controlled newspaper journalist have as hard times writing the essay properly.  It is a very difficult to cover up, so do have mercy on these people.

 

First the news said Goh WAS DRIVING HIS MOTHER'S CAR, then in the later part it is reported that GOH wanted to TEST OUT HIS MODIFIED SALOON CAR. 

 

I presumed it is the same car right ? Or he has 2 car at Seletar Link at that time.  Or one in Seletar Link and one in Orchard Road, as when the race is finished, they are already in Orchard Road.

 

 

Anyway, this is good news for all the illegal racers here in SG, next time when you are caught driving at less than 179km/h and got charged in court, remember to tell the judge about this ruling. Probation hor.

Under probation, my interpretation is that the license is still not suspended, he will still be allowed to drive. This really defeat the purpose as he is still be allowed to drive.

 

The bigger concern is if judge set the precedence, does it mean future case also have probation for this kind of spending case? Plus he is only 19yrs old, suspension for 11 months is better then the stuipd probation. Will he be like if in future anything that he break the law, will cry father and cry mother for help? Like that he will he learnt from the lesson?

I don't know why you call the lorry driver zai, imho, he was driving a bit fast for a commercial vehicle.  If he had kept to the limit, he probably wouldn't have skidded when he jammed brake.

 

bro, I don't know what is your beef with the lorry driver. My eyes are not calibrated for speed check and it ain't clear from the video.  So my guess is you are guessing he is driving a  bit fast. Benefit of doubt is given to the lorry driver unless proven otherwise.

 

The fact is that the lorry driver did avoid an accident and avoided spinning out of control and flipping. Bonus was there was no tailgater behind the lorry and  he was doing the right thing by driving on the 3rd lane.

 

AND fact is because of his action, the driver and passengers of the toyota camry SKJ4925Y got away without a scratch.

 

and that is why I call the lorry driver zai. If he bey zai, I am sure we would have seen a different outcome, with injuries/casualties from both vehicles.

Didn't hear the DPP appealing against the light sentence. So our law is nice to the nice 'Goh' family. WTF

But I think, its because he is only 19 years old and comes from a "good" family. That is why got probation. When they get probation means no other punishment unless they break the terms of their probation. Never heard of people getting probation for traffic offence before so dunno is it the reason why he also don't get suspension as a punishment.

 

The "good" family thing just means that the probation officer has determined that his family environment should be conducive and his parents are able to control him if they want to. Those who are not recommended for probation are those from "bad" families where the parents probably cannot control their children.
