COE Bidding – 2nd Round of June 2016

So many bidder last round (as higher as 4k). Thought after last round, the remaining bidder will be less by at least half. Turn out that this bid, the amount of bidder is as many as last round.

Earlier post, those folk that claimed not much or lesser ppls in showroom, aka less bidder, has lost their creditability. Pls don't come and tell ppls similar forecast base on # of ppls in showroom to represent the coe result again.

Seriously, car lite is just government gimmick.. With COE quota always grows (although very slowly), and 100% take-up rate per bidding, what was the sense of car-lite? If they are serious on it, they should start with reducing quota.. 

 

Why do people assume Car-Lite = Car-Cheap? Obviously if there are less cars allowed on the road then price of COEs will be higher.

I didn't assume car-cheap.. Car Lite means less cars, but how can we achieve less cars when the quota is maintained, or increased.. Singapore is the only place in this multi-verse that the number of cars on the road does not depend on supply and demand, but depend on COE quota.. 

 

And when was the last time COE quota is more than demand?

In fact, government's aim has been achieved. The average income earners will not be able to afford a car which will force them to be taking the public transport (car-lite). And the government continues to get high income from the COE which will be maintained at the current level.

Finally someone is talking sense! 

 

The trick is to push the price up by opening the floodgate by making it easier to purchase. They make car ownership out of reach for the masses and average joes. In the long term, these people stop whining on MCF & finally revert to public transport. Those who entered the market recently or after MAS rule change, more or less can afford one. It's those below this segment that the govt. wants to filter out.. the $10K/$20K/$30K COE fence sitters.
