kelaihoyin 5th Gear September 4, 2017 Share September 4, 2017 Still no sound no picture. Made appointment to get it checked again cos I'm pretty sure it's anti roll bar side. Steering so far is fun, almost sporty, no weird sounds. Yes HU can update firmware, the latest one fixes some android auto issues and adds a "STOP" icon when reversing. Well If it is the anti roll bar problem probably have to wait another few months. Called today told me the whole shop only got 1 left side bushing in stock, right side have to wait don't know till when. Apparently have to sort out the logistics for the transition from GM to PSA.

Should be just the bushing. Yea can feel the clunking as well, especially obvious for me turning left upslope. Best to go down get them log down the replacement part needed. Though I find it quite ridiculous that the transition should be a problem for the customers. Sounds like BS to me honestly.
Spinball 1st Gear September 5, 2017 Share September 5, 2017 (edited) No need heart pain, from the opel facebook can see more happy owners. Some have issue with AD service standard but nothing to do with the car. Its funny non-opel owners need to come in and run down the car when they don't even own it. But can see its the same people also running down other brands such as vw when they don't own it also. Funny people you are, go justify how good your car is in your own car thread if you want, but maybe 1 way to feel better about the car you have after realising how bad it is is to go run down other models so as to justify you made the right decision, just to make yourself feel better??? Same thing happen in Opel facebook group... if you observed, some don't own Opel cars.. never own one.. or drive that particular model... also say ALL Opel car are "so perfect" and AG service is "so good"... if someone posted bad/fault about Opel car and AG in there... suddenly you will say a lot of people coming out and defend it and started saying bad things about other car brands... and saying those who reported faults are liars... must show proof of the faults so that can be a judge... all sort of stuff... By the way, some of them are related to AG and acted like they are customers... Just to tell those... you can't hide your identity on the Internet... I think we should stop all these.. It make sense for AG to order more... like what johnny mentioned.. Astra K suffered from that problem and it just a matter of time... sooner or later... many will send in their cars to get that fixed.... Anyone encountered "Service Steering Wheel Column...." message?? I saw this message a few times when I switch off my engine... hope it is not serious... again.. sometime you see it... sometime you don't...

You can see enough concerns raise by owners in the fb group too. The numbers are low and you assume because the AG salesman are there? I am not saying they are not lurking around but we owners do raise concerns when it happens but whats there for most owners to raise when there is simply nothing to? You can see most owners in the fb are critical of AG service standards too but we do not hesitate to praise if AG did well too. Many of these on FB attend meetups with their opel and i wonder why you say they are AG salesman. The opel watsapp group is very active with up to thousand messages on modding daily with photos and the occasional complaints when the others will give advice. You say we should stop all these, what is the these? I can understand if AG salesman are lurking in opel fb as they have an agenda but what about all these anti-opel owners doing here? Is alright if you go into other car brands and bash occasionally but these guys are basically camping here, whats their agenda then?
Kiario 5th Gear September 5, 2017 Share September 5, 2017 Maybe i should stop else you guys might think i am an opel salesman. Like i say, i am happy when fellow owners raise their concerns so that i can look out for them. I do think some of you did purchased a lemon with multiple faults. I do agree with 1 bro here that happy owners are more quiet and less likely to post so if we can know how many opel sold vs the complaints here, we can roughly gauge the % of faults which i feel is still low at the moment. Johnny86 4th Gear September 5, 2017 Share September 5, 2017 (edited) it is true that happy owners will have less to comment. both Kiario and Spinball comment based on different perspectives here and neither are wrong. in fact the same car is subjected to different opinion by different owners' expectations. some are chincai while others may be more discerning, having experienced other rides regardless of brand/model. no matter how good or bad u feel about the car, u already own it. enjoy it more since already paying for it. as for the negatives, focus them on the parties that should take responsibility for it. those who just bash this model without owning it, no choice. there will always be such bitter ppl around keep saying that korean is best blablabla drive a lineage of fast and power cars blablabla. its always easy to pussy behind a keyboard. i bet the keyboards' the most expensive thing he'll ever own but lets just get past that. the keyboard doesnt change our fun driving experience nor fix our problems. btw if the bush has not been fixed in production, it is only a matter of time till it comes on. cars with less than 5K may not experience it. im only curious for those who got them changed, does it solve the problem completely or not. Teo2000 4th Gear September 5, 2017 Share September 5, 2017 I am an Opel owner and I am not an Opel Salesman. I don't own any shares in AG or Alpine Group. I am enjoying my ride so far. Enough said. Agreed I like the drive a lot just let down by AG's servicing quality. AG updated me today though that is not the bushing but the stabiliser rod. So because they don't know which side is causing the noise they have to wait for both side to come in and check. No estimated time of arrival sadly.

We are here to share and learn. I'm a potential buyer as I test drove it and really like the drive. Aka VW Golf but without DSG issue? Keen to know and learn more on this new Astra

We are here to share and learn. I'm a potential buyer as I test drove it and really like the drive. Aka VW Golf but without DSG issue? Keen to know and learn more on this new Astra Please read all my previous posts in this thread - I shall not say anymore. if you really want "100%" reliability, I should say buy a Toyota Corolla Altis. The Japanese brands so far are the most reliable, but not so solid as continental makes. I would have bought a Cat A Japanese car if I do not need to drive to Malaysia often. When I was car hunting in December 2016, the Altis was about the same price as the 1.4T HB. Maybe because the Cat A and Cat B COE was quite close. I just want to be different this time.
