Quite a few owners got this. I believe if driven long enough this problem will come up

sent mine in, tried to fix the anti roll bar side but didn't work. Came back better but temporarily only. Still waiting for steering rack change.

Ok thanks. Seems a common issue worldwide and still no permanent solution to it.

Anyone tried positioning the front cam to the left of the mirror instead of where AG installs it below the mirror?  I find that it blocks the front view a bit too much.   [:p]

Even F1 drivers train using the Astra (looks like the 1.4T with no dual exhaust).

Have to agree on the "surprisingly quick" part :D

https://youtu.be/-lfwJuvvBHA

Gonna watch this tonight and try it at 3am

For 1.4T owners who experience "tuck" sound from gearbox especially loud on lower gears, please go report this to AG as they are now actively collecting information for feedback to factory.

U will likely hear this when u accelerate on lower gears , let go of the pedal, and then accelerate again. The "re-engaging of clutch" produces this sound

For those who DONT HAVE this sound, please PM me

Thanks! Good to know they are gathering feedback. Will probably give them a call now

My car tuck sound became louder n louder and astra k is a new car. This is extremely disappointing.Car of the year???? I'm beginning to wonder what is the assessment criteria. Fellow 1.4 Drivers . I suggest you guys better made known your tuck sound to AG even if it's very faint sound. Coz that's what happen to mine. Now it's unbearably audible and very frequent . I totally regretted buying this car.

Tuck? ððð

Did you try driving your car in the late of night, along curvaceous B-roads with speed humps... and with all infotainment switched off?

You'll be amazed with the cacophony of squeaks and rattles that accompany the tuck sounds! ðð¼

Wait till it gets past its 3rd year and we'd like to hear your feedback on costly parts replacement and the car's overall reliability ... or the lack of it!

Car of the year indeed!

ððð

Are you driving a 1.4 too?

One way to alleviate this is to avoid coasting on low gears or simply turn the radio on. Best is straight acceleration to past 60 and it should be good. Don't let the GB engage/disengage on low speeds

Both have worked well enough for me while waiting for factory to fix this

Can you video record this and put it on the internet, like Youtube?

I don't have this "tuck" sound.

I think the later batch of 1.4 have this issue - This model was sold in Sg since Sept 2016 and I was trawling the internet about this model since Dec 2016 about whatever defects and faults of the car (UK website is the best) and did not find this issue.

Even when I got the car in Feb 2017, there was no such issue.

Therefore, AG better come up with an explanation. If all cars with auto transmission have no "tuck" sound, why only this model?

By the way, I don't keep cars till the end of 10 years. I normally use it till 5-7 years and then go hunt for a new "toy". This is because a lot of parts need to be replaced during this time, depends on your luck.

I got my car March 2017 and occasionally have this issue. But it seems only after the car warms up then will have the sound. When just started up the sound doesn't seem to appear.

Can be quite obvious for me especially when going over speed bump at speeds of around 20km/h. The gear holds as you go over the bump but as soon as you start to accelerate after that you will feel the "tuck" sound like it drop down a gear.

In my case in normal day to day driving condition the sound is getting louder. AG just throw a it's normal due to free play of gearbox. Normal??? And further more disclaim level of loudness is subjective and due to sensitivity of individual. Outstanding resolution. I decide to give Opel a go and bought their new car. All I can say now, regrettable purchase.
