Seems Europe is having a product recall for the 1.4T engine (manual & auto) to fix the misfiring problem. A simple ECU update was suggested. Maybe should give AG a call next week to check on this as well?

18-E-3388 is the recall code it seems.

If it is a manufacturer's recall, LTA will know about it. LTA will then see if any cars imported into Singapore are affected by it.

If LTA orders a recall, AG will have to do the rectification. This is required by law.

So far, mine has no misfiring issues.

Let's wait and see.

Yea true those updated the ECU saw better response under warm conditions. Apparently for all 1.4T engines manual or auto included.

Misfiring aside definitely worth a look if really got an update.

For those 1.4T owners, u can check if your car is indeed required to be updated through here : https://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web/

Enter your VIN, go into K20 Engine control module and under programming you should see the recall description. I've got mine.

I have the same as your's. Have you called AG? What did they say?

Thanks!

Yup have to praise AG for their fast response. Was told that there is indeed a campaign for updating for the engine control module. [thumbsup]

I will probably do it tgt with my servicing. If what the Europeans are saying is true should except better throttle response overall [:)]

Have the same.. guessed that most of 1.4T are affected. Anyway, previously was told that.. to AG, that is not a recall just a campaign. They can choose to ignore it since there is no official recall register with LTA. If AG choose to rectify it.. good for owners.. if not, we also can’t do anything..

Anyone have this issue rectified by AG?

Should AG inform all affected owners rather than owners call AG to check?

I think I got mine done on 24 Apr.

I happened to send my car in on 24 Apr to fix the stupid ‘croaking’ sounds from the front right undercarriage when driving and turning at low speed. Which they managed to fix. Apparently it is my link arm that is causing the problem. The ball joint of the link arm is not sitting properly cos it is faulty. After that replaced the link arm, there is no sound Liao.

And they called me to tell me also that they updated the engine software.

I dont really feel there is a obvious difference to the engine performance. But then maybe cos I just changed my rims from 17in to 18in, but lighter rims.

For those curious about our stock 17in rims weight, it is 10.5kg.

My new OZ Leggera HLT 18in is 9.5kg.

For those who are curious about what is causing the door rattling sound. It is because of this water proofing plastic sheet behind our door panel.

You can download the attached video to see how the plastic sheet cause the sound. Apologies for the low res as I am limited by file size upload. In real life, the sound is even louder.

So we removed the plastic sheet completely and replace with 3 layers of sound proofing materials for all 4 doors. Now there is not a single whisper of door rattling sound. I can't rmb exactly how much it cost. But I rmb it cost about $60 or $80/layer/door. But I think it is money well spent. Cos even AG's technician tell me my car is very very quiet.

The replaced sound proofing layers are also waterproof?
