Could you advise which apk version you are on?

Also the steps taken to get it running: i.e connect cable to phone with app already open then select "projection" on the car HU screen?

I tried playing Spotify via bluetooth but music was very soft and sound quality was poor.

seems like android auto even if you use the APK version would say Android auto not available in your country

this have been a busy week, and lots of driving ard the highway.

Finally I see a new low in FC, 6.2L/100km, the lowest I have seen so far.

Mayb if I do a  longer trip on NSHW may see a even lower FC, sub 6 mayb possible.  [:p]  [laugh]  [laugh]

Bro @tianmo

Ron 95 best tank so far from full till fuel light up:

Ron 92 for below:

Last pic was +10+km after fuel light up so should be around 600km

6AT has some jerkiness which is pronounced on ron95 and above unless driven hard(racer mode)

Ron92 alleviates it and reduces GB confusion which can be quite irksome at times, translating to less parasitic losses

My previous tank was on ron95, mileage only 530km cos drive until fed up. Now back to ron92 and immediately feel better.

Personal conclusion: RON92 for 1.4T 6AT until GB jerkiness is solved

wats the min RON stated in cap or manual? usu RON92 will have some knocking wor...or jerkiness felt...

dono if worth the savings in the long run. may run into bigger engine issues latr on....

The year is 2017, how much have technology advanced, and we still have ppl living in the turbo technology of the year 2000.

The car manual is there for a reason, and the engineers who designed and builded the car know better than anyone else. Unless anyone think they know the car better than the engineers who designed and builded the car, I am sticking to what is stated in the car manual.

Many modern turbo engines are already using w30 engine oils with some going as thin as w20, have we seen any turbo engines blown up because of thin EO? And we still have ppl believing that turbo engines must use thick thick EO. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

just to sidetrack a bit regarding the use of recommended RON.

if go for chip tuning, I wonder RON 95 still accepted?

yeah, ron recommendation is based on design of the engine - compression ratio on the B10XFT / B14XFT not that high, also doubt turbo boost pressure is high for a small snail.. ECU Mapping also plays a part which the final power figures are dependant on

ron95 is recommended but i get better idling on ron92... slightly better than lowest possible of Ron91...of course YMMV

just to sidetrack a bit regarding the use of recommended RON.

it really depends on how u tune it, only a few variables to play with and u cant have it all

want higher power output, maybe run richer or use higher octane fuel

want better fc, maybe run leaner, octane level also need to monitor , maybe cannot go below 95

i feel in the case of 1.4T tuning for higher power output or tuning for better FC may help with running smoother on Ron95, ie if 6AT is not the cause of the issues some of the owners have

Just something to share. There is a new service bulletin with reference to using Dexos 2 EO causing pre-ignition in 1.0T and 1.4T engines. The service bulletin recommends using Dexos 1 Gen 2 EO. Gave the service center a call and they said the D1Gen2 EO will only come in next month. Just a note for those who might be experiencing some stuttering in their engines this might be the problem causing it.

Below is the content reference from the UK forum : https://www.astrakforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2855

Good Morning All,

Bulletin just been released by Vauxhall advising that for Turbocharged Direct Injection Engines there is a certain risk for Stochastic Pre Ignition (SPI). This SPI causes strong pressure peaks in the combustion chamber which may harm the piston ring lands.

Fault:

Sporadic metallic noise from combustion chamber, sometimes with short loss of power. Occasionally fault code 'P0300 Engine Misfire' is stored but not all the time. Engine Light might not even come on when power loss suffered. This may be the source of the engine splutter / short loss of power people are experiencing in 1.4 Turbo.

Affected Models:

Amongst the affected models are the two versions of the 1.4 Turbo in the Astra K (B14XFL/T RPO code LE1 and LE2). I have the 150ps 1.4 Turbo Astra K which is RPO code LE2.

Resolution:

Vauxhall/Opel/GM have developed a new engine Oil - Dexos 1, Generation 2 to reduce the risk of this fault happening. This new Oil is essential to be used for Astra K 1.4 Turbo. However up until this point only Dexos 2 has been available. The new Oil will be released in the final week of April 2017. The part number is: 95599877 which comes in a 5 litre container, larger sizes will be available at a later date. Model Year 2017 cars are shipped with the new oil in already.

In the meantime the bulletin states GM Dexos 2 MUST be used until Dexo 1, Gen 2 becomes available.

As promised from my last post on 6 March 2017, I was away for a few days making my trip up north to Kajang (Putrajaya) driving the 1.4T HB. Total distance traveled in Malaysia: 660 km, 85% highway driving. Here is my verdict: EXHILARATING!

Cruising at 150 km/h, the car is telling you that it can do more....So I was not disappointed!

Believe me, the car is stable at speeds beyond that and there was no floating feeling.

You find cars like Honda City, Corolla Altis 1.8, Proton Inspira 2.0 and Camry 2.4 coming close on your rear view mirrror and once you step on it.... they become further and further away from you....That feeling is priceless.

Enough said. No need to mod when stock is good enough.

And so far no stuttering issues.

Regards
