An absolutely vital away win against a a Tony Pulis team. ( finally set the record straight of beating his team away ).

A clean sheet.

A cagey encounter with enough chances created that failed to put away.

Was worried of the slender one goal lead.

Relief that that final whistle came and we came away with 3 points.

WBA just got WBAed by Liverpool with a set piece goal [laugh]

 

Liverpool running down the clock, WBA woke up towards the end and start attacking :D

 

WBA goalkeeper provided some comic relief in added time [:p]

 

Klopp stayed calm, firmino kept his shirt on, and 3 points in the bag for us [thumbsup]

Firmino is certainly one of the better players on the field today.

 

But the team started very slow and took quite some time to get into gear. The players were not urgent to make the forward passes and it was frustrating to see backward or sideway passing.

 

Mignolet, again, showed he is improving. He is coming out for crosses and thwarting the aerial threat. With a slender lead, i thought he shld have wasted time to let some of the hopeless balls roll out for a goal kick istd of retrieving it.

 

Can, again, played well. Tried his best to play football with some forward passing.

 

Origi can be one for the future but somehow he seemed to have lost his shine that shone on him last season.

 

DS, again, never fail to disappoint me. He seems a liability at the moment. Not challenging for the high balls, dwarfing from the opponents' clearances and not contributing. I felt it was 10 players when he came on.

 

Anw, we won and the 3 points matters. It is also important we learn to win ugly. Focus on the next game and slowly make baby steps to qualify for UCL...then recruit quality reinforcements during the transfer window.

first half last min scored a nice goal, set up by shorty coutnho with his head too. The brazilians are really getting the points. Let's hope scoring in consecutive matches will help firmino with his confidence to keep scoring more.

 

WBA tried to bully Pool throughout the match, but referee also not fair, if wanna let WBA continue that style, then the wrestling duels that Can and Matip won, should not have been penalised. Origi even had his shirt torn... LoL.

 

That Moreno too long never played, come out only try to be hero, when there are so many better options, not least for him to run the ball into goal, since he's fast and fresh. Chose to do this type of stupid things towards the end. Lucky not costly miss.

 

Mig has helped to win 5 points in 2 matches. Let's hope that helps his confidence too.

 

As for our defence... hmm... somehow still not v confident about them leh. Must be tighter.

 

Then our attackers... should bury the match when there are decent chances lah. cannot be so wasteful...

 

But heck, the 3 points are very welcomed. Just continue getting max points, and hope all the other top 6 teams keep dropping points now and then  [laugh]

Winning gracefully or ugly is least importnt nowadays. It should have been 3-2, or 2-1 or 2-0 win for Pool. Final result of 1-0 is also great.

 

But most important is 3 points after whistle is blown.

Thanks for pointing that out. 

 

Just looked at the reply and you're absolutely right. I watched with Chinese commentary and heard the commentator said the Brazilians combined well. So it's Lucas instead of Coutinho.

 

This Lucas also quite jialat. Think he has a reputation, every match sure fouled few times will kanna yellow card... But at least he wasn't exposed in the match. Good work.
