Haha, then maybe you should visit a couple of Liverpool forums like Tia and redandwhitekop. There are quite a few. I know some members like me were banned for voicing out.

Do you hear carragher having transfer rumour? Or scum Paul asscholes? [laugh] don't have right? So if Liverpool is really so important to him, why is he the subject of transfer to Chelsea? And I haven't talk about his friendship with the special one. Aw that's his own business.

Gerrard is someone who is insecure, individualistic and interfere with a lot of things at the club. Traditionally before a player starts to drop his standard, the club already source for replacement and slowly phase out the player. But players like Gerrard and carragher refused to be these players. I understand from their point of view but from the club point of view it is no good. How ex pool players like tommy smith, Phil Neal all try to kick up a fuss but in the end managers like paisley and dalglish prevailed.

Maybe I just share a recent link on what kind of person Gerrard is. Sammy Lee, also a Liverpool legend has to apologize to him for interferring and overwrite coaching decision. There are more. You just have to find out and read about it.

Gerrard is an icon but he is not all angellic. His attempted move to Stamford Bridge was a deliberate manoeuvre to raise his wages by some additional 50K pnds/week. Liverpool have to give in to his demands.

After Torres left, things start to slowly tango downhill.

Overall, he is still respected if you compare him to Mickey Owens who is the infamously greatest self-centered bloke in Pool's recent history. Now Mickey is the football ambassador for Pool, pretty ironic.  :D

ohhh... i never really followed the news of his "attempted" move to Chelsea, so i dun really know the full story

just feel sad that in the end, many fans turned against him because of that famous slip, and the club let him go

It's just my own opinion. There are many others who do not share my opinion of gerrard.

All hell broke lose after that match. I and a few others were banned at redandwhitekop forum for voicing out about Gerrard. Before that we already have reservation about gerrard playing as a deep lying midfielder after the villa match. If I recalled we lost 3-1? Of course after that we went 10 match winning streak? and seems like a master stroke by xxxx that no one dare to question anymore and the mods there crackdown those who voice out too harshly. But I don't care anymore after that slip. I just thrashed gerrard and the best man for the job so much until I got the ban lol

The way u look at gerrard is the way i look at rafa, u look at the positves or Rafa while i challenge his negative, But i wun question your loyalty or question u as a fan :)))).. Gerrard is Liverpool, yes he's only human..but u can never find another player who played his heart out like him and carragher..

I wun get into a debate with you.. but in this era, we wun find many players like them anymore..

For your info my son's name is Gerard. And it's not because of houllier [laugh]

That's how much I used to be his fan. But by the time I my son was born, I already change my opinion of him. But I still go ahead with it.

As for Rafa, I knew his shortcomings. He seem cold and too professional. Way too stubborn to give in.

My thinking is always gear towards the interest of the club. I always look how much one is prepare to put himself for the club. Gerrard did give a lot, and I do not want to question his loyalty too [laugh]

But I guess some things happen for a reason. We will see in future if our opinion is really right or not.

A historic win for Allen and Ward's Wales, but a nightmare performance from Skrtel.

Allen got the Man of the Match award :))

As for Skrtel, he was really lucky not to get Red carded for elbowing ... Oh well, hope we can still sell him off !

I just hope he gets red card and ends his misery in this competition ... And then we can still sell him off for some decent $

Surprising Ward was first choice also.. Another historic night for the young keeper who barely featured in 2016..

Gerrard and Carra were the reasons why Pool never achieved its full potential and Pool was the reason why Gerrard and Carra never did their full potential. Not to mention the owners and the managers and the CEOs.

The ppl that reached and exceeded their full potential are the fans!!! And of course SingTel..damn!

A couple more i would also consider

1. Macmanaman on the wings. his dribbling was by far the most unorthodox i have seen.

2. Ian Rush. 2000 was his last year but still by far the best british striker in his generation.

3. Gary Macallister. Didn't came in his prime. but he was damm memorable in my opinion.

4. Fowler/Owen. in half minds over them. but their best years was with pool. and they deserves a mention. but probably wouldn't make my first eleven.

5. Steve Finnan. very under rated. may not be the best RB but damm consistent. i would put him over carragher at RB, Carragher is more of a CB tbh.

who's your Liverpool best 11 (2000 to 2016)?

mine will be (4-4-2 diamond):

-----------Torres---------Suarez---------------

------------------Gerrard-------------------------

--Kewell-------------------------------Sterling--

------------------Alonso--------------------------

Riise---Hyypia----Mascherano--Carragher

-------------------Reina--------------------------

actually Mascherano played DM during his Liverpool days but I can't think of a better CB

the wings also quite weak

though the attacking trio is definitely world class

If he din suffer that illness ---> Markus Babbel.

Rob Jones too

Based on ability alone, Carra would not even make my 5th team. Based on other factors, he would be at best on the 5th team

cos one club men in football are so rare...

only a handful have achieved it, eg Maldini, Giggs, Gary Neville, Tony Adams, Carragher, Puyol, John Terry (likely), Totti (likely)

that's why was hoping for Gerrard to stay on, but too bad, reality is cruel

he suffered the same fate as Raul
