Err no. It's just a lofted pass into the run of can... all 22 players on the pitch are capable of that. I think even the ref can do that.

 

The assist stats are always misleading lol. Not that I'm dissing Lucas.

My take:

 

When the ball came to him, Lucas looked over to the left and saw Emre Can making a run. He lobbed the ball to a position which he measured EC would be in. That is called vision.

 

EC was in a position which he's considered not a danger...but he pulled a rabbit out of the hat with his beautiful shot...runnning in all the way without hesitation...that's called poetry in motion!

 

They raved about Looney's goal last time...but he kicked from a stationery position and had all the time in the world to measure his shot...EC did not...

 

Great assist...great great goal!

Lucas is a Golden Ball winner.

a defensive midfielder.

The reason we won 1 - 0 was a bit of luck - save by the woodwork

 

as well as Klopp keep shouting at Lucas not to support the attack

 

buy staying back in front of the two central defender in case of a 

 

quick counter attack. 

 

 

We let in goals because Milner and Clyne move up and play as wingers

 

supporting the attack. When we get counter attacked the opposition

 

usually have 3 players attacking our 2 central defenders and out numbering

 

us. With Lucas protecting the back two we will have at least 3 at the back.

 

 

Now we just have to learn how to deal with set pieces. I think having taller

 

and stronger players will help.

Every one go up and attack except

I think we need a Beckenbauer kind of libero... can slot into defence  as 3rd CB and move into midfield to dictate play from deep when the team is attacking.....

Germans are known to produce this special breed: Bechenbauer, mattias sammer, lothar mathaus. I hope our German can find a good one for the team.

but we have mixed results from our African imports.

 

Sissoko was good for i think 1+ season, then strangely fizzled out.

 

The 2 senegalese, err... Diao was mediocre. Diouf, less said, better.

I dont believe pool will pay 50m for him...as thisbis the figure being thrown ard with this so called agreement. Either pool is throwing smoke bomb in pursuot of other targets, or his agent trying to drive up demand for him.

 

Word of couti still being courted by barca is still swirling ard. Read somewhere that barca reps will b meeting pool reps to discuss aft being 1st rejected. I guess it is only a matter of time b4 he goes. The most will b another season if pool gets ucl.
