Clutched

I just saw one on the road today at jurong west. It's a blue GT-line trim with plate no. SGJxxxx. Is that supposed to be the demo car? Cos i know it's not launched yet

That 1.2L petrol right? Wouldn't 1.6L be better?

The 1.2L 3 cylinder engine is pretty powerful, you should test drive it to believe it. Somehow PSA group managed to pull the power out of it.

AutoFrance only brought in the 1.2L petrol at the moment which fits nicely into Cat A COE. The 1.6L petrol may be brought in next year. But it will require Cat B COE. Moreover the emissions will be higher and thus subjected to higher taxes. Thus the 1.6L petrol may not be price- competitive. The 1.2L petrol would likely be the best-seller of the range. It is a gem of an engine and should be sufficient for most drivers on Singapore roads. Don't know whether AF will be bringing in the 1.6 HDi diesel next year or not.

Fully agree with that! This 1.2L in the 3008 is a gem of an engine. Smooth, torquey, responsive and quiet. Just amazing!

I did not believe it until I test drove it. Have been driving a 2L for the last many years and have never driven anything like this in a 1.2L. Tried the QQ at 1.2 and it was sluggish to say the least.

Based purely on spec, it's actually comparable to it's rival "Renault Kadjar 1.2T TCe (A)" but loose out to it's Korean counterpart "Hyundai Tucson 1.6 GLS DCT Turbo (A)". Right?

The Hyundai 1.6 churns out 175bhp which is higher than the 3008 at 129bhp.  So on paper the Hyundai has more power. The Hyundai is at 1.6 tonnes and 3008 at 1.2 tonnes. So the lighter weight seems to compensate the power required? Perhaps. But you need to test drive both to see if there is a significant difference.

But personally I would stay away from anything that is "dual clutch". Both the Hyundai and Kadjar are Dual clutch gearboxes.
