SGCMHello 4th Gear March 30, 2018 Share March 30, 2018 Maybe with past Peugeots or lower end peugeot. This new model won many awards internationally, and 3008/5008 tried to move more up market with premium materials. If watch all youtube reviews on 3008 and 5008, there is very little criticism, lots of praises. Car is faultless from day 1. It's great value for money. Cheap running cost, cheap road tax, and fuel efficient. Just be prepared for more expensive servicing and resale value.

SGCMHello 4th Gear March 31, 2018 Share March 31, 2018 Don’t bother Prince, queen or king engine..... the 1.2L engine is refined, smooth and return 12.5KM to 13KM per litre.
benbean Clutched March 31, 2018 Share March 31, 2018 The 1.2L puretech is the award winning engine 2 years in a row, this is also part of the reason i bought the 3008.
theory_87 3rd Gear April 2, 2018 Share April 2, 2018 (edited) The 1.2 engine is not a prince engine. not sure about whether the 1,6 is from the prince family though the 1.6thp is a prince engine. The engine code is ep6cdtm. ep6cdtm is euro 6 compliance with 163hp. It is suppose to be improved version of the ep6cdt which is euro 5 compliance with 156hp. The prince engine won engine of the year for 1.4-1.8 category from 2007 to 2014. While this engine is dynamic to drive, it really need a lot of tlc. I will choose 1.2 puretech anytime over 1.6thp as far as possible. Edited April 2, 2018 by theory_87
SGCMphotog Neutral Newbie April 5, 2018 Share April 5, 2018 (edited) any current variant of 3008 owners care to review your "long term" usage and issue(s) encountered if any? have test drove both 1.2 and 1.6 and Allure seems to be my choice. Read overseas long term review and common complain is the infotainment system and connectivity issue. Currently on Golf Mk7. stock speakers deliver decent enough audio, did not manage to test 3008's. is it that bad that need to be replaced? Been driving for 6 months and loving it every moment except for some teething issues, easily rectified by AF. But I'm displeased with AF service advisers' weak knowledge of this 3008's function & features and their stubbornness of not allowing us to bring our own EO, as Mobil 1 5W30 doesn't bring out the full performance of this 1.2 Puretech engine. FYI, Peugeot France highly recommends Total Quartz EO, as "Total Quartz" label & sticker can be seen in the engine compartment and even at the fuel cover. I will suggest 1.2L Allure, unless they change the 1.6 Prince engine to 1.6 Puretech 225. I'm not very particular about sound system thus the stock speakers are consider quite good, imho. Can share teething issues? I read alot of Peugeot but am not fairly confident of the vehicle reliability but i am in love with the design and am looking to gun the 5008 probably.. But if every now and then i have to visit the hospital.. it is going to be too much work... Edited April 6, 2018 by Anderss

I read alot of Peugeot but am not fairly confident of the vehicle reliability but i am in love with the design and am looking to gun the 5008 probably.. But if every now and then i have to visit the hospital.. it is going to be too much work... Mainly firmware issues: 1) RDS unable to identify radio stations 2) Carplay auto reset - happened thrice 3) Flickering screen when showing reversing cam - happened twice 4) Roll back issue - Hill Start Assist doesn't kicks in when on Stop/Start mode 5) Windscreen wiper leaves trails of water lines 6) Left hand side Center panel not align All the above were rectified in one visit, as my car is 1st batch, firmware is dated, so after updating to the latest firmware issues never surface again. Before collecting, just remind & make sure they update the firmware. Buying cars depend on luck, even reliable car like Lexus will gives problems; my boss' Lexus was brought back twice during the 1st month of ownership and my GM's BMW was tolled back just 3 days of collection. But if every now and then i have to visit the hospital.. it is going to be too much work... after more than 15,000 km no big issues. only complaint no power tailgate. after market offered by AF not up to expectation. 1.2 is a 3-cylinder Puretech. 1.6 is a 4-cylinder Prince engine. Have both .... prefer the 3-cylinder. Rev quieter and faster. On the 5008 with a full load, the 1.2 may struggle a little.
