those who feels French car is still cmi, should come out from the cave. Yes, they are not 100 or 90 %reliable, but its definitely much better than before.

one drive will convince you when you chose over it.

Ok, but what does much better than before mean? That there are still problems with French cars? I came very close to buying the 508. It was great during the test drive and had the space I needed but when it came down to it I couldn't bring myself to buying a 140k car that was just "much better than before." The sales woman kept tryng to convince me that it's an improved car from before, and that they'd resolved the old transmission and other issues they previously had. But I wasn't convinced. When I asked her if they were so confident of it, why not warranty the transmission for ten years? (I believe Kia has done that with their cars to build consumer confidence) Ultimately, reputation does matter, whether it's genuine or perceived, look at VW today, and which is largely why Japanese cars sell so well. For all I know the 508 , that I was considering, is indeed a very good car and their past issues have been addressed and resolved; but to lay down that much money on the word of a salesperson, without backing up the talk with real action, was just too much of a gamble for me. Had Peugeot given me the same kind of warranty as Kia, I might very well have bought it. In the end, I took the chicken exit and went Japanese.

there are about 3 main stockists around Little India area carrying French car parts for Citroen, Peugeot and Renault.

Parts are generally cheaper than "premium" Japanese brands like Honda, Mazda and Subaru.

From stockist or agent ws?

i took a drive at the Pug's sister brand and followed my heart to sign the next day haha. I'm sure there will be quirks to iron out but the quality and attention to detail is awesome.

I dont think it's possible to get it at that price anymore. They revise the price up due to COE and demand.

After 5 years, the parts should be more readily available. So, you need not even fear lack of parts. [:p]

IIRC, Kian Hua, Trans Hua, United Motors, Unico...

can we change SE after signing papers? i don't feel comfortable with mine.

What's the point. All signed and sealed. Services after that won't be too much of difference unless SE had something against u.

Sometimes also depends on the agent's (AF) workshop.

Last time my friend's pug need to wait for weeks for parts to fly in.

Not sure now...

This is true for some parts for some models, especially the less common ones. When I was driving a Peugeot 107 there were times when AF had to order parts in from overseas. I once had to wait 3 weeks for an aircon compressor that was under warranty (but years later when I had to replace it again, my own workshop could get the part on the day itself). Another time, I waited 3 weeks for a replacement engine immobiliser (apparently a rare part, but this was when the car was already 9 years old).

I learnt there are 2 modes of ordering parts from AF - normal and express. The default is normal, when shipment happens at a regular period (maybe once every 3 weeks or so). When you get the part depends on whether it can make it for a scheduled shipment. If you bang table, or they cock up the parts order (as happened to me), there is express service. The part will miraculously show up in a few days time. That was my experience.

But seeing how each batch of the 3008 is pretty much sold out I think there will sufficient volume of cars for AF to keep stock of spare parts in their inventory. I feel the availability of parts is less of a concern unless soemthing really uncommon needs replacement.

Once you're out of warranty there are also other local stockists and workshops can get Peugeot parts quite quickly.

OR you just order from eBay or other online suppliers like I did. I once replaced a rear wheel bearing myself by ordering the part from eBay. The part came within 3 days and all in I paid only 25% of what AF quoted me haha.
