Not worth it. if ur A5 is still problem free then just stick with it. It’s got better FC and build quality compared to the Giulia. Just that drive wise I dunno, I tried the A4 back in 2020 and Giulia definitely wins in the driving dynamics part. Expand Ya bad timing for me. if coe is 30k (i'm dreaming), will get it in a heartbeat haha. giulia is the only other sedan that caught my eye apart from A5. A5 so far so good, still turn back and look at it everytime i parked the car 😍 ↡ Advertisement

Uninitiated 1st Gear January 27 Share January 27 To think the last post on this car is from more than half a year ago! I just picked up my Giulia in Dec (and I didn’t know Auto Capella is folding). Comes in the red I have always fancied. 2 months on, I find that I am willing myself to like the car. I don’t know why. I thought I would be excited by the curves and the sex appeal. I thought I would be consumed by the engaging exhaust. Make no mistake, this is a driver’s car. The willingness of this puppy to please and the audacious roar if you hit the pedal. What a beast. But still, I am surprised by the lack of enthusiasm I have. Having driven the 159 for some years (okay it wasn’t exactly a road machine but it hell was sexy), I thought I have returned home with this Giulia. Somehow something is lacking. If a groom enters into a marriage feeling something is wrong, this probably feels like it. Nothing wrong with the bride, it is my mentality and I can’t quite tell why. 2

Phelan 1st Gear February 19 Share February 19 looks like a new Alfa agent will be announced in June 25. Hope that the new agent will bring in the correct models which will not incur VES penalty

Expand I test drove the Giulia Veloce at Capella last December. I was trying to hunt for a 2020 and later Veloce variant on the used market but was not able to find the one I liked. I think your issue is that its interior is not what a 2024/2025 luxury car is supposed to have. For a platform that is almost a decade old, there is no update on the interior except the infotainment system which is still abysmally small. Then again, you enter a marriage with someone that you are willing to accept their flaws, and for the Giulia, there are not really a lot of flaws IMO. The drivetrain is really good and reliable (yes, really), proper suspension setup (double wishbone front, multi-link rear), driveshaft is the same as the QV variant, there are no close competitors from AD (330i, C300, S5), and people do turn around to look at your car (maybe it is just me). It is a proper driver's car. I think this is the swan song model of Alfa Romeo. Stellantis is going pure EV, and from what Alfa Romeo churned out recently, it is not looking good for the brand. Expand I agree wholeheartedly, mate. The pros you mentioned are the reasons why I took this over another brand. Again, as with all marriages, there are no total package. And how we love to compare Alfa to human beings. I just need to get over the qualities my ex wife had but my current wife does not, and focuses on the qualities my current wife has but my ex wife did not. Expand you are right! 159 still feels better with the kick in the butt feeling during sillyspeed gear change and sounds better too with the novitec. the giulia has its own charm la.. better engine note, better handling, and better specced. and 5.2 years on, yet to go on tow truck yet compared to my 159 which went up only after 2 months lol your FL is much nicer than mine for sure. congrats again and do join TSP if you can.

Expand well said, well said. much more substance than many frogs in the well in this forum hehe we all make our own choices, there's no need to bash others (especially if one hasn't owned or driven one long term before)... something i've learnt after becoming a grandfather.. to each his own. dun need to justify our choices.. iykyk. ↡ Advertisement
