outside office

I see you

I used to catch these during secondary school. Must catch by the neck. Careful of the claws. The bite is very painful and will draw blood.

try catch this @Adrianli :D

Came across this while on my run last weekend at Marina Bay East side

Used to catch these water monitor lizards too, along Whampoa Canal area. We cleared the whole whampoa/st george canal area of these water monitor lizards and garden lizards. Sad to say, we were pretty sadist then. All kena caught were tortured and burnt to death.

We also stone to death a few snakes there too. One was a fat python. Dont dare to catch snakes so just throw rocks at it.

Was a very bad boy.

We also always get fresh coconut juices from there and mangos too. Those coconut trees were shorter and orange-yellow in colour. Some taller ones, need a bit of climbing.

Kids these days dont get to do these anymore.

Its been ages since I am back there, pass by the area on CTE only and see lots of new BTO. That was my playground. Learn to play marble with coins at the sandy playground there too. See gang fights there too. Pretty rough place, last time with lots of one room rental flats there.

I not as adventurous...at most:

- secretly go catch guppies/longkang fish in the big monsoon drain near my place with neighbourhood kids

- catch spiders among the hedges

- catch dragonflies and tie strings to fly them

- mini candle bonfires under the pelican shaped playground structure within sand pits

- try to make "assasin kites" with glue and broken glass coated kite strings

- play goh lis in the sand pits

Seem quite mild compared to yours, but looking back... I must have been damn lucky to be able alive now typing this....a single thunderstorm could have drowned me and wash me out to sea.

We also catch longkang fishes in the Whampoa Canal. Low tide, catch crabs and kill water monitor lizards/snakes. We will go into the smaller longkang from the monsoon drain and hunt them in the dark.

We would climb the water pipes to get to the other side. These huge pipes got those spikey fence, we climb under it swinging our body with back facing the water. One slip and into the monsoon drain. I think it my mum seen me doing it, she would have fainted. When she gets up, will cane the hell out of me!!!
