I have a 6.5-year-old Qashqai J11 with a 1.2 DTG engine, and I'm dealing with a persistent DTC code P0597(13) indicating an open circuit in the thermostat heater control system. I've used an OBDII Bluetooth device to scan and manually reset the engine light, but it returns after 3 to 4 days. The car seems to be driving fine, and there's an added benefit of improved cooling from the air conditioning. I have a few questions:

Is it safe to continue driving with this issue?

How much does TC charge for replacing the thermostat housing?

Can you recommend a workshop for this replacement, and what's the estimated cost?

Thank you for your guidance.

Hello, I just own my QQ 2 months ago. 6 years old and my car has encountered a few problems...

During STA inspection, windscreen got crack and lower arm got sign of worn. Then car dealer only repair the windscreen but not able to get rid of it. In the end, ask me to use my insurance to claim and pay me back the excess.

When it is getting to 2 months... Aircon not working...coolant leakage... Found out thermostat, lower hose needed to replace...during the test, fan motor suddenly not working so also need to replace.... Damaged 1.2k.

Few days after collected the car, anti slip light on and system fault.... Then I restart the engine, the light is gone...but the car seems dying and not moving at all at the middle of traffic junction.. I have to restart the engine and drive away...

Is it common that QQ having these problems?

Hi fellow QQ owners. I have encountered some issues with my ride recently and hope to get some advice for you.

I have been receiving frequent “Headlight System Fault” alert whenever I auto headlight is activated. During this time,  the right main headlight will go off.  But once I turn right or turn my steering wheel to the right, the right main headlight will come on again and the alert will cease. However, after making the “turn right” maneuver and once I straighten my steering wheel, the “Headlight System Fault” alert came up again and the right main headlight went off. I am sure my right headlamp is working fine as it did light up whenever I make a right turn so not sure what’s wrong here. Nissan advised to replace the whole lamp unit which will cost me $700 so I am seeking a second opinion from bros here.

very unusual issue. never encounter before. not too sure if something is loose in connection that cause this issue.

To be frank, I don’t have this issue until after my previous servicing at TCM TP. So, suspecting they could have done something that triggered this issue 🤔

Hello Qashqai owners,

I purchased a used 1.2 2019 85k on the odo, few days back, noticed a squealing sound coming whenever taking the car out in the morning.

It definitely sounds like some brake sound, not the slipping belt, it goes on for a good 100 meters and then goes away, happens every day in the morning.

The parking brake is disengaged, the brake pedal is fine, no error codes, what could it be? Went through some old posts, it suggest some ARM bush might be the cause.

Taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Any suggestions on what I can ask them to check, considering I wont be able to replicate the sound in front of them.

Should be brake pads and rotors. Do u feel the vehicle will sway one side when u brake? Or any vibration during braking? Check on these 2.

@QQDreamer Thank you, the mechanics did clean up the brake pads and checked the rotors, the noise has reduced considerably, but is still there, to me it appears as if the parking brakes are still somehow clinging onto the rotors even when they are released in the morning.

Over a bit of a distance they get disengaged, will be getting the car serviced at TC, will get this also checked, the rotors were smooth, no uneven edges, neither the retaining clip of the calipers jutting out.
