Iâm using coil mats which is customised to the QQ

I bought them online from

https://m.qoo10.sg/gmkt.inc/Goods/Goods.aspx?goodscode=547797736

I self collected from the shop at Kaki Bukit. Theyâre called Cypress Matting.

Just wonder, coil mat seems to trap dirt better, but issit hard to clean it through normal brushing off? mine is the stock mat, normal vaccum does not seems to clear it better than brushing the dirt off

The dirt trapped by the coil mat can be easily removed, either by inverting & shaking the mat around or by jetting it with water. The stock mats are quite hard to vacuum if there’s dirt on them.

Also the coil mats are cheap and easy to replace...the stock mats less so

Speaking of battery, can we change to a 3rd party one, or do we have to go back to tan chong to get the original one. Mine just died at the carpark. Frustrating.

you can get any brand as long as it is agm. If you dont use the start stop function, you may use a normal battery.

if you can wait until tomorrow and your car is less than 2 to 3 years, tan chong would be cheaper as there is a discount for the first 2/3 years.

Thanks Giraffey99. Called TC helpline and they sent someone over. The mechanic that changed my battery was grouchy though. Lol.

Hi 99,

Stopstart function typically only requires EFB or enhanced flood type that came as stock and not more expensive AGM type.

AGM which is more for hybrid since it recharges easier and betta from regenerative recharging...

However qashqai has inherent and less than ideal recharging circuitry which also affect 2.0 without stopstart ..hence TC bo bian but uses expensive agm to work a little better cos even efb that is more expensive than normal seal battery did not do well.

Cheers.

This is my personal experience, to change the battery before it spoils. Saves you a lot of trouble.

Thanks for the advice Bro. I know need to be proactive for this. But as I said, didnt see any signs of battery dying just yet. I also use a small device that tells me the battery voltage when you start the car. so far always been close to 12.8 to 13V, which I assume is okay.

Having said that, this morning the car started absolutely fine, but the device showed me a voltage of 11.9V. Now that is not a good sign. So, better that I change my battery asap now. I do have AAA membership.. that is why a bit relax, in my previous car once I had battery trouble, I called AAA, they came within 45 minutes, changed the battery within 15 minutes and all sorted. Plus they provide 2 years warranty for the battery, so that is good. But their battery was a little more expensive than others.. Amaron brand, not sure AGM or EFB type...I need to research on this a little. I am really a complete noobie when it comes to anything related to the car.

Considering to replace my stock tyres after about 30k usage. Any kind soul here can recommend a good place to replace with good pricing? Considering the following: Michelin Primacy 3/4ST, Bridgestone Alenza, GY EfficientGrip, no idea which is better, so any added advice or personal opinions are welcomed. Cheers

the popular branded ones would be pioneer, kenwood, alpine, sony, clarion.

when changing the hu, you would also need to get a canbus/steering wheel module and a faceplate.

It would be around 1000 onwards.

I was just reading threads on the car battery over the weekend and wondered when my 20-month battery will start to act up ...and then it happened this evening! Good thing I had a Hummer jump starter power bank with me. Going to change at Tan Chong first thing tomorrow since they’re closed. Will charge the power bank overnight

Dear QQ owners

I'm getting a car for my wife and we are interested in the the QQ. However I'm abit worried about getting it after I read that the new QQ is a collaboration with Renault..  I'm driving a french car (Peugeot), while they looks good and drives well, its reliability is really bad..

Would like to ask QQ owners here on its reliability and if its good, which variant to buy (2.0 Vs 1.2 T) .

Thanks in advance!  [wave]

Hi old birds.

Does the chg batt at 50% disc within 2 years work even though car is out of warranty period?

I first chg the batt at 23 maths when car was under 3 year warranty.

Than can I change this batt when the 2 year period is almost up even though the car is out of the 3 year warranty period?

There is still some discount. But not at 50%. Think its around 20-30% if I remember correctly.

Baphomet,

French cars generally are well designed and asthetically pretty but their engines somehow are not as rugged compared to German or Japanese. Lets say that buyers can easily fall in love with them because their cars are romantic and highly seductive.

The QQ1.2T comes with a HRA Renault engine turbo charged giving 114bhp comes under Cat A.

Whereas QQ2.0L comes with a Nissan M20 NA engine giving 142 bhp comes under Cat B.

The Nissan M20 engine is a proven workhorse thus pretty reliable and should generally provide trouble free driving experiences.

As for the Renault HRA engine and its turbo-charged performance, it is best you read up on the earlier parts of this thread to fix your conclusions. Also check out the SGM car buyers reviews for a better feel.

Buyers who have budget constraints generally buy the 1.2T version, but if you do not have budget limitations, I should say the QQ2.0L should be a no-brainer.

Just my thoughts but it is best you do you due diligence before parting with your $$$.
