Budgetice 3rd Gear October 22, 2018 Share October 22, 2018 Hi Budgetice Its a singular 'tok' sound from each position. Ie. Front right tyre and rear right tyre. I have already did clear everything in my car and drove around. The 'tok' sound still occurs. It will get worse if my car is fully loaded meaning 3 adults and a toddler. Which i dont think equates to full load. Get worse in a way that the sound will come consistently. If im alone in the car, the sound will come occasionally. I might agree with TC for changing my front left shock absorber the first time it happened because of the fully loaded theory. But its to early for my shock absorbers to be worn out. Am i right? By the way, my ride have covered 41k km. Best Regards Hafiras Then should be just bushing issue , unlikely to be absorber. CorgiPoop Neutral Newbie October 24, 2018 Share October 24, 2018 Hey guys, I'm driving a used QQ 1.2L for about a month now. Car is about 3 years old. Recently, the amber check engine light has been intermittently appearing randomly but car still drives fine. However I got a 'Chassis Control System Fault Error' and loss of traction control yesterday while driving in a carpark. Parked the car for a couple of hours and the error went away. (Check engine light was still appearing randomly) I then sent the car to the dealer's workshop where they reset the system and told me to monitor. They added that the installed throttle controller (Freepower S-Drive) might be the cause. Is there any recommended workshop I could visit for a proper troubleshoot on this? Thanks!! Olderman 1st Gear October 24, 2018 Share October 24, 2018 Had similar problem. Tok sound from front right tyre area when turning right. Problem resolved afther they done the following. - RENEW FRONT STABILIZER BAR BUSH - RENEW FRONT LOWER LINK - BOTH - RENEW BOTH FRT TOP INSULATOR / BEARING & SPRING SEAT - CHK KNOCKING NOISE WHEN RIGHT TURN Huh, didn't know this is another Qashqai's common prob as I have lived with that in my 84K mileage, 2.5y.o. 2L, aside from the occasional louder "tok" sound from the driver seat over undulating road, going around corners or when butt is shifted. Will bring it up in next servicing & see what they will do as the driver seat sound was brought up in past 3 servicings & not solved, so I was rather sceptical in their prob solving. It will only be a waste of time leaving the car there the whole day. Once the service advisor told me they will change the whole driver seat when changing my creased driver seat leather trimming that I was claiming & it will solve the prob. But alas, only the leather trimming was changed & the sound naturally remains till now & worst is the new leather trimming creased again within a mth on same butt area. Just had another issue yesterday morning when the battery died on me again the 3rd time in 2.5 years. The 1st original from UK died (heard it happened to most, if not all 1.2L & not 2L) within 7 mths, 2nd left 85% after 12 mths & advised to change, 3rd lasted only 10 mths & cannot even lock back car after cranking a few times. Called the 24hrs Emergency Roadside Assistance vehicle - he has 3 same dead battery cases to attend thus will only be available 3 hrs later, advised is better & faster to call service center. Called & was told to pay in cash $185.65 (original price $178-25%(3rd yr claim)+$40(service charge)+7% GST) as battery warranty is 1 year or 20K, whichever comes first.... & 3rd year claim of 25% starts from the day (ridiculously) the car was bought & not when the new battery was last replaced. The car is stock without any additional gadget & the DVR motion-detect was not in use (cannot be used as it is not connected direct to car's battery as it is not advisable). Sent an email to TC already and shall see what will they reply.

Changed the battery at 50% price. After 10 months, have problem starting engine due to battery problem. Went back to them again. Battery not under warranty due to more than 20K. Initially was told battery will be at 50% as car is still within 2nd year. When making payment, was told that I had utilised my 2nd year entitlement so need to pay the 75% or full price (can't remember). Told them I am not paying and asked them to change back the old battery. Ended up I called AAS road side assistance to come and change the battery. AAS battery comes with 24 mths warranty. Will see how long this battery can last. Anyway will be able to replace the battery under warranty if it died within 24 months. tylsteve 3rd Gear October 24, 2018 Share October 24, 2018 (edited) Just share my personal experience. 1.2T Qashqai, bought in Nov 2015. Original battery died just before 1 year, in October 2016. Towed to workshop, and changed to new battery. No charges for towing, and no charges for battery as it is within 1 year. Only downside is the inconvenience. This replacement battery has lasted quite well for about 2 years. During October this year, during the 40000km servicing, I voluntarily asked the workshop to change to new battery as I was worried that the lifespan of the battery might not last. After all, it has been 2 years already since the replacement battery. Start stop is turned off 99% of the time (except when I forget). Replacement battery is about $200 inclusive of GST, with 25% discount as the car is less than 3 years. I chose to replace the battery this time, instead of waiting for it to spoil. In a way it is preventive maintenance, to change out the battery before it fails. In my opinion, better to pay this extra $200 for peace of mind, and avoid the inconvenience of having to call a tow truck if the battery dies. When that happens, have to pay for the battery + towing + inconvenience. Edited October 24, 2018 by tylsteve

Yes, normally it is advisable to change the battery from 01~1.5 year. But here we are talking about ours that cannot even last a year at all. TC has responded promptly & was adamant about their warranty is from date of car purchased & not battery last replaced date. Was advised to arrange send car to service center check whether is there any issue with the alternator, whilst acknowledging the short lifespan for Qashqai's battery which is due to car nowadays has many sensors draining the battery. With the only consolation that 2.0L battery at $178 is much cheaper than 1.2L's extra heavy duty Start/Stop type at $250 !! Will not be wasting time sending to check what shit alternator issue & instead left words for the workshop manager to return call to listen to his version (just for fun, as guess will have to live with this prob or go get some other brand car). Meanwhile, I have ticked my calender to schedule to change new car battery at 09 mths interval.

Winsontank Neutral Newbie October 25, 2018 Share October 25, 2018 Hi does anyone has electrical failure issue? I am driving a pre-owned QQ 2.0 for a year & it happened today. Car was manufactured in 2014 n i am the 2nd owner. Mileage was 35k when I bought over last year. The power windows, IU, power tailgate, folding side mirror are not working. Mechanic run a diagnosis but cannot detect any fault. He spend a few hours checking on cables, connections etc but all seem to be normal. Check on battery, which I replaced only a few months ago, with unstable voltage. So replaced a new one & all back to normal. But the same problem comes back immediately the moment I exit the car park gantry so no choice U turn back. So no choice but to leave the car in the workshop for further check tomorrow. Hopefully can get the problems rectify without burning a big hole in my pocket..... Anyone with similar experience pls share. Thanks!
