@QQDreamer Thank you, the mechanics did clean up the brake pads and checked the rotors, the noise has reduced considerably, but is still there, to me it appears as if the parking brakes are still somehow clinging onto the rotors even when they are released in the morning.

Over a bit of a distance they get disengaged, will be getting the car serviced at TC, will get this also checked, the rotors were smooth, no uneven edges, neither the retaining clip of the calipers jutting out.

the brake caliper somewhat jam already. get your mechanic to service the brake calipers. take out the guide pins clean and regrease them and install. it will be ok already. but if it is always having sound when you brake, either is brake pads going to finish or your rotors is worn. but if rotor worn, you should experience vibration and if brake pads finishing, then you will feel your car will swap left on the steering. Its a tell-tale sign. Hope it helps.

Browsing the Tan Chong Nissan new car range, the Qashqai has been quietly dropped from models offered. Tan Chong is focusing effort on e-Power models.

Didn't see many new 1.3L Qashqai on the road. The majority Qashqai on the road now still the 2015-2017 1.2L and 2.0L.

Hello Qashqai owners,

I purchased a used 1.2 2019 85k on the odo, few days back, noticed a squealing sound coming whenever taking the car out in the morning.

It definitely sounds like some brake sound, not the slipping belt, it goes on for a good 100 meters and then goes away, happens every day in the morning.

The parking brake is disengaged, the brake pedal is fine, no error codes, what could it be? Went through some old posts, it suggest some ARM bush might be the cause.

Taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Any suggestions on what I can ask them to check, considering I wont be able to replicate the sound in front of them.

Same for my current qq. Every morning without fail. Just morning only. I also never bother to repair it. Brakes not affected.

I parked the car at TC overnight, so that the mechanic can see the problem, they replaced the rear brake pads, for doing that they would have had to remove the motor for the electric handbrake, which I suspect was not fully turning back the cylinder when it was being retracted.

Today the sound was not there, touchwood, it was embarrassing to drive off with that squealing sound every morning!

Hi all, I just got a 2018 1.2. But i search high and low and could not find a single usb port (only have 2 x 12v outlets under center console and inside armrest). I was hoping to be able to connect a wired usb cable for apple carplay.

Can anyone advise if I can just install a usb outlet and have a wired carplay?

Thank you all!

i presumed your head unit still the original one. yes you can install extra USB port at the empty slots underneath ur driver aircon vent where the empty slots are. hope this helps. Audio shop should be able to do this for a small fee.
