Hi qq16, just go back to tanchong instead of some outside workshop ... tanchong has seen all causes of noises that generic workshops cannot be more experienced and you had already tried some.

Not sure svc manager, Kwek, or technical mgr, CheeKeong, are still there and you may asked for them when there.  Please say Richard send his best regards if either are available.

Good luck and cheers.

Yes, service manager Mr Kwek is still working in BT Tan Chong. When I want to send my Nissan Sylphy for servicing, I will message him to book an appointment. He is very experience and approachable guy.

@qq16 i experienced some "knocking" sound from my steering when turning at low speed (e.g moving out of parking lot). Took a while for TC to diagnose to a faulty rack & pinion. After replacing under warranty, the sound is gone. Maybe ask them to check rack & pinion?

This is common issue - I also got mine replaced under warranty. @qq12t

Just bought a second hand 2016 QQ a week ago, steering wheel seems to be slow returning to center when turning right or left. Anyone face this issue before?

My Qashqai was registered in May 2016. Now about 5.5 years ago. Enjoy my ride so far.

But wear n tear is inevitable. The knocking sound while moving on and initial turning was rectified by outside workshop as mentioned in earlier posts. TC unable to diagnosed when sent to them earlier.

Done 90k+ servicing at outside workshop last month (November) and also due to aircon suddenly do not emit any cold air. Replaced the following items:

1) enoc 5w30 c3 n oil filter
2) nissan CVT-ns3 (gear oil)
3) spark plug
4) rear brake pad
5) thermostat housing
6) front right drive shaft
7) alignment

All in about $1,000 odd. Usual engine oil capacity is 4 litres only. Our Qashqai Renault engine requires 5 litres 😲

There are 2 speed timing sensors; one near exhaust pipe side and the other on the front side. Replaced the speed timing sensor near the exhaust pipe today.

Monitoring further if the timing gear cover leaks...

Hi, I am new to Qashqai, driving a 1.2l 2016.  Lately, the gear is stuck at P position even when I step on the break.  I need to press the gear shift button several times until it engages, so I used a cable tie to permanently engage the gear shift button. According to the garage in JB, they have checked the fuse and wiring and they are all working fine.  They said that this is the part that needs replacing, but the part is hard to find in JB because QQ is not sold in Malaysia.  Any advice on where I can bring the car for repair in SG?

What you are showing is the gearshift selector, turn the part around to look for the  part number, usually there should be one,  call up stockists in SGP and ask if they have the part. Or you can give them your chassis number, ask them if the have  gear shift selector, they should be able to advise you

@Ct3833 Thanks.  The garage at MY managed to repair it without replacing the part.  There is a small electric motor in the gearshift that releases the shift lock when the brake is depressed.  They managed to resolder the electric motor.  The cost of repair is only RM120.

Good to know that. Cheap cheap some more. Thanks for  circling  back.
