Thanks! Will try 98.. after trying 95, it seems to be more fuel consumption than my previous 2.0 car..

I'm not referring to you. Just saying generally, sometimes people focus too much on "fuel efficiency" that they forget the real purpose of monitoring it in the first place, and that is $$$$.

I prefer to calculate $/km rather than km/l.

Higher km/l is pointless if $/km is also higher after changing fuel type.

try bah... acceleration also feel faster..

No point buy a car and scrimp and save on small things like petrol and lose out on the fun of driving it

My wife also dont like the reponse on 95, so the effect is real i guess.. lol

Hi fellow forummers

Earlier I posted some queries as I have shortlisted QQ 2.0L as my car choice. Thanks for the sharing earlier. I am still monitoring QQ as it's price still remains high (by my financial position) and there are room for further reduction as COE may potentially go lower. I note the following quirks from sgcarmart and would like to seek fellow forummers' opinion. Thanks.

From Sgcarmart:

Car with many quirks

13 Jul 2018

With the low COE, went to test drive drive the 2.0 L model .. My first experience with an SUV after years of driving sedans of many makes. Was initially OK with the car's interior and handling, but along the way I found many quirks that I think I will have issues with if I own this car..

What I like

- External styling looks solid

- High and spacious driving position

- Not too bad interior finishing

What I do not like

(1) The proximity sensors is strangely engineered.. it takes over your multimedia system when there is a near object e.g. when stopping at traffic light and a M/C stops beside the car, the alarm will sound off continuously and the screen will switch to display the warning from the alarm system, blotting out whatever was on your screen (e.g. Nav map), and it will only be restored after the proximity objects gets out of the way..

Hunter's comments - Since this function is useless. Should not be a problem once we turned it off.

(2) Some low pitch noises from suspension when going over humps.. sounds like bushing problems I faced with my previous Nissan.. probably demo unit that's why

Hunter's comments - Didn't read about this in this forum. Probably is an isolated case.

(3) Some rattling from inside cabin, and also from dash.. demo unit?

Hunter's comments - Read about this in this forum and could be easily rectified by TC.

(4) The auto emergency brake system sometimes come on unexpectedly.. once there was a slightly high road hump, and it braked! Sales rep said this is how its supposed to work.. but gave me a bit of anxiety when approaching the next high hump..

Hunter's comments - Again, since this function has more demerit than merit, it should not be an issue once we turned it off.

(5) The front blind spot is pretty bad.. difficult to gauge the kerbs in front at tight corners.

Hunter's comments - Probably is user specific issue only.

(6) Air con at times automatically switches to "fresh air" even when it was put to internal circulation.. SR was probably right saying maybe itâ€s a safety feature to ensure enough oxygen levels.. but not when there is a black smoke-spewing diesel lorry right in front of you ha ha.

Hunter's comments - Read about this in this forum. Nothing much can be done I guess.

(7) Checked the real world fuel consumption.. looks pretty far from that stated in brochure

Hunter's comments - Again, should be user specific issue. Highway driving should have better FC.

(8) I personally don't like the feel of the car with the CVT.. does not give that "kick-down" feeling and acceleration with the auto gearbox like DSG or Aisin..

Hunter's comments - User specific preference. I understand we could install chip to enhance performance for 1.2T. Are there any chip for 2.0L version?

(9) The "thin looking" 19 inch tyres makes the car look like itâ€s on stilts from the rear.. I

also read in some car forum pages that its difficult to source for 19 inch tyres of the 225 spec.. also more expensive compared to others..

Hunter's comments - I read that other forummers changed to 18 inch tyres for better FC, so should not be a problem.

Hi jqjq,

Hope FL bro tried ok can advise else guinea pig time ..

I have used Integrated TPMS from "xiangxing" and "yuxuan" on both QQ and XT. So far so good, except that one sensor from "xiangxing" spoilt after almost year, and I had to change the complete set. I can no longer find the ezbuy links but I believe these should be the correct Taobao links:

https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=540396802183&_u=t2dmg8j26111

https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=546430455221&_u=t2dmg8j26111

Please note that the TPMS has been tested as working only on Pre-FL QQ and XT. For FL XT, I tested and it does not work. For FL QQ, TPMS comes factory installed.

You will find some other types of integrated TPMS on Taobao. Some use external sensors. I have no experience with those. You can also find some TPMS that have integrated display selling for $50 or less. These do not have sensors in tire to measure actual tire pressure. Instead, they rely on the ABS to measure rotational speed of the wheels to determine which tire is deflated. The reading of 240 or 180 kPa for such systems is not the actual reading. It is basically to say "inflated" or "deflated".

Hi guys,

I was thinking to get the below obd tyre monitoring from taobao.

Like to check have anyone installed before.

Just want to check.

1. I read that the SD card for the GPS is tie to some serial numbers so it will be useless to clone someone else's. Is this correct? My 2nd hand QQ GPS not working and just past 2 years old. Went to TC Ubi was told after warranty need to pay $133.50 to replace. Of coz not willing to do that. I have been relying on my phone anyway but just a bit sore eye that the build in one is not working.

2. After market HID is illegal I assume? Didn't realise it was installed when I buy it. Will it void warranty if I go TC with this? Is it wise to remove it?

1. If it bothers you, perhaps, install a new headunit? Music would sound much better too.

2. Yes, it is illegal to change. It may fail inspection/lta checks.
