dash1234 3rd Gear May 8, 2016 Share May 8, 2016 Hi Eric, Yes, it is still possible. There is also a chance the COE might dip a bit assuming Uber, SMRT and those pte taxi companies have got their COEs the last round. If bit a lot, then it plays into TC's game too.... stretch to maximum of 6 rounds... Anyway, knowing there is also someone else in the same boat as me,... now I wonder how many of us are out there.. all kena played played by TC. Can you image at the very 1st bid, the max TC placed the bid was already a couple of Ks lower than the COE at time of purchase. Really pathetic. And their excuse was, no worries, your car still not left UK factory yet! I really hope future buyers will read these posts, and act accordingly. Not to avoid QQ or TC, but to go in wisely with all these experience in hand. Fret not. This is why they have the so call 6 bid of COE bidding. If TC doesn't secure a COE on the last bid, they practically will lose a customer to their rival. Will TC do that? Istupid is it? Their lost is their competitor's gain. Bear that in mind. ↡ Advertisement

What makes you think they don't miscalculated? Even Borneo motor also can make such mistake... Remember those bought altis at all time low during cny 2015(was is 2014?) period and many didn't get their Coe?...If they have to make a loss, they will give up the deal and do refund... Its a non guaranteed package, remember?...
Pocy Hypersonic May 8, 2016 Share May 8, 2016 Your case an anomaly and a strange one . Mostly nearly everyone here on non guaranteed got it on 1st attempt for QQ . A handful on the 2nd attempt .Hi BO65, I came to realize one point from EricChan's post. Those successful NG got it on 1st or 2nd attempts were when the COEs were declining. Yours has been riding on the up wave if I am not wrong. This could spell bad for your 6th (final) bidding round if the COE continue to rise. Don't give up your 1st choice QQ. Harrier is swee too but not your 1st choice. Moreover, cost much more with the current COE. Consider guarantee for your 6th (final) bidding round.

Bear that in mind. if the SE is anything to go by: according to SE; 1. TC does not keep track of what was bid for you last and pre times. Ya right, This SE thinks we are all as dumb as he is. He boasted years of experience and customer returning back to buy 4th time from him and TC. And yet tell me something so stupid like this. 2. SE blames me for not topping up and not understanding vitality of COE market. But this same SE says 'confident will get' even after 3rd fail. This same SE says no need guaranteed bid. He don't need the extra $200 commission from the guaranteed bid. Now its obvious its all TC's strategy to discourage guaranteed bid - its more margin for them to play the 6 rounds stretch whenever possible. Gives them flexibility. For every bro here with 1st and 2nd time successful bid, how many out there are not and not in the forum to share their experience. 3. This same SE himself does not keep track of what TC actually bids on prev bids too. And he says "TC is very sincere. TC placed extra $2k this bid compared to last bid". But I kept track. it was extra only $276 from last bid! WTF. He thinks he can conn me. If what he said is true, not by now BUT at PREV rounds already the bid amount would have been higher than the resulting COE. Want to conn people also so stupid. EricChan 5th Gear May 8, 2016 Share May 8, 2016 (edited) my experience with several SE in TC (as well as having a PI friend having his ex runner inside TC) has informed me there can be some variation between costs among them. One SE told me must take loan otherwise $2 k penalty, others said none and without penalty. One didn't give any discount, another gave original $1K but if ordered before certain time a further $xk (stock clearing). Part of it is because whatever extra it is going direct to their pockets (in essence they are self employed as they will not be surviving without sales). if orders on hand full, that particular SE will not be that hungry that month and will dare to quote higher. if the SE is anything to go by: according to SE; 1. TC does not keep track of what was bid for you last and pre times. Ya right, This SE thinks we are all as dumb as he is. Bezz 3rd Gear May 8, 2016 Share May 8, 2016 Sorry to reply so late. Realized that I have limited posts per day. Yes. I will first be looking at installing new horns. Am thinking whether to do PPS though. I would recomend PPS. I am lazy and usually don't wash my car. My previous 2 cars were washed once a year, before CNY After i did PPS to my 3 week old QQ, the paint stays shiny and body is smooth like after claybar feel. I hope the effect can last at least 1 yr. Then recoat next year.

From what I know so far, SE is just a sales person on the ground. They take in orders and key in. They do not know and have no say as to how the comapny's executives in the office bid and do their policies. They can only guess or based on what is being shared w them. In short, do not put SE in your equation in a crisis like yours. In reality, they are not in the picture in decision making. Above is just my take. I could be wrong. It is so easy to check what bid the car company placed for you. Its just need your NRIC during the bidding process. IF you know the IC number of someone who is waiting for the COE, you could actually check it during the bidding period. For 100K and more purchases, the SE would need to do a bit more. How hard is it to keep track. And to claim TC does not keep track too? major BS. This SE has degree from UK, and Team Leader at TC. But it was his team too who tried to conn me into selling my current ride at like 10K below market value!

To give up your 1st choice QQ cos of the unexpected commercial issues during the process, worth it? A SE would service you up to collection of car, where you will continue to enjoy your ride for 10 years thereafter. I believe you would still want your QQ. Considering the COE latest price and QQ price now, I think it is still worthwhile to pay $1K for guarantee. Cheers!

Hi B065, I agreed with Pocy and think we also miss on key point on guaranteed COE I.e.if you really still wish for the Qashqai, 1k seems reasonable as it is already the lowest. TC also need to first take care of those who indeed paid for guaranteed COE and differentiates from those who did not. Cheers. Richard
Jjlimjohn Clutched May 8, 2016 Share May 8, 2016 nope. they do increase. but each subsequent increase still will not be enough to make the last losing bid even. Eg, the 4th round bid they placed was less than $300 higher than the amount they placed during the 3rd round. Not even matching or higher than the 3rd round result. imho, TC is not sincere in bidding for you. not even matching the last round is saying something about them trying to get the car for you. Hope you get it in the 6th bid! Keep us informed ya.

I like to look on the bright side of things especially when an event like buying a car which should be a 'happy' event. Think of it as having a 2nd chance to evaluate the choices. Go test drive and start targeting another car if you don't get your COE in 2 weeks time and you don't want to deal with TC anymore.

Because the dust layer was so thick, the words will be there for months My previous cars were silver colour so the dust is not too obvious, silver car look like grey colour only. Now with metallic black QQ, need to maintain if not wife will not give me peace, that's why I did PPS. So far I'm very satisfied with the PPS.
