Whow!!! This one too reflective.  Don't think can go on the road.  Car becomes stealth and disappears into the road.

There is still about $10k difference between turbo harrier vs non turbo harrier furthermore we are talking about suv here, without turbo soem driver can even turtle the car, let alone turbocharged harrier.

There is still a market for non turbo harrier.

Dont forget turbo harrier will have higher fuel consumption, if toyota launching a 2.0 hybrid harrier, hybrid harrier will be well receive by consumer, its like how the 1.8 hybrid harrier sell better than 1.2turbo chr

Not sure if known but suspension is also different in addition to gearbox Edited by richard_crl032

Looking to get a new car. I am comparing the new Harrier 2.0L Turbo VS new CR-V 1.5L Turbo.

Seems that the CR-V has more safety features. Especially like the Adaptive Cruise Control with the Low Speed Follow function. This is good when stuck in start-stop-start traffic, traffic jams and crossing the immigration/checkpoint.

Totally different performance of 2.0l turbo and 1.5l turbo. Harrier turbo come with new array of safety features and not sure if the same on adaptive cruise control Edited by richard_crl032

Totally different performance of 2.0l turbo and 1.5l turbo. Harrier turbo come with new array of safety features but yes, dun think have the same

Yes, performance between 2.0L turbo and 1.5L turbo aside, I'm also looking at safety features.

CR-V has following safety features:

- Lane Departure Warning

- Lane Keep Assist System

- Road Departure Mitigation

- Collision Mitigation Braking System

- Forward Collision Warning

- Adaptive Cruise Control with Low Speed Follow function

The sales brochure uploaded in post #6154617 by Ashley1108 did not seem to show the features similar to the above.

Don't know if anyone can point me to the list of safety features in the new Harrier 2.0L turbo.

I think this turbo harrier from borneo is promising and seems priced well.

I believe sooner or later these questions will start to be raised so I start first. Does the car has other performance upgrades other than the drivetrain? I believe this gen of harrier only comes with 2L NA engine and also hybrid until now. So the chassis, suspensions, brakes and major components are designed for such power level (150hp 200nm). 2L turbo (230hp 350nm) is a big step up and the weight is 100kg more (mostly at the front due to engine). Typically the brakes and suspension should be upgraded. Not talking about having stock brembo but maybe slightly bigger rotors or better pads, etc.

Potential buyers can ask borneo sales staff but please take note that whatever verbally said cannot be depended upon (my experience!). Unless there is documented evidence or it is written in sales agreement.

Compare to NX turbo lor. Same engine right?

NX was designed and built with the turbo engine. Harrier was designed and built with the NA engine. Only years later, they now place the turbo engine into harrier, does harrier needs to be beefed up in the important areas like chassis, suspension, brakes? Was the original design margins wide enough to cover this new config sufficiently?

Someone may ask what about forester, it has NA and turbo also, are there differences between the two versions other than drivetrain? I don't know. I do know forester was designed with both NA and turbo from the start so even if there are no differences (due to cost saving from common parts and processes), it is good enough for turbo.

I myself driving a turbo car model which started off with NA engines much less powerful. Only years later they experimented to put in a turbo engine. Till today I still don't know if there are enhancements to the model other than drivetrain. I am talking about enhancements that affect how the car drives, not just safety features or leather seats and lights, etc. The engine rocks but the car handling and quality of ride ..... From my constant efforts and mods then the car drives much better today. For example the stock suspension is really bad. I changed to coilovers and it actually is more comfortable now, on top of handling much better. Coilover more comfort than stock??!!

Turbocharged

With this spec, finally something in this price range with such comprehensive active safety. Only thing missing is adaptive lighting technology.

auto-levelling means it adjusts up and down to compensate for load or vehicle tilt, to keep the headlight beam at the intended height, while adaptive functions expand this by including multiple beam shapes or directional beams.

I don't think a lot of the parts need upgrading. Toyota drivers aren't known to be wrc racers la .. its the same setup as a nx so it should be fine ..

Saw a black FL Altis at Leng Kee showroom just now on a test drive. Launching together with Harrier in July?

btw anyone has any idea when is BM launching the C-HR? No news since March... but with the new Harrier, BM can effectively "kill" many PIs.

Haha but does it matter? SG is so brightly light up. Even cruise control - who even uses it on SG roads?
