I don't think the RAV4 is a worry for BM as it's really not moving at all. For the NX, it's debatable if there's really an overlap in the 2 markets given the pricing and badge positioning disparity. There may be some who would look at both models, but for those who choose the NX, I think they'll end up doing so whether the Harrier is BM or PI.

 

On the Harrier being a special rare bird, it seems, to me, like a very popular and pretty common model on the road already.

Harrier is certainly not rare. The sales figure is quite close to the Altis

Agree, if talk abt 2015 beyond, see more Harrier than Camry (both luxury class) on the roads.

The mid size segment(camry&accord) has shrunk alot over the years but camry is still dominating the small market.

Accord can say almost disappear and Camry still can see few .

There are still some accord and teana on the road. But sonata, optima  and mondeo are almost extinct. Apparently camry still made it to the top 10 best selling cars sold by ADs in 2016 with sales of almost 1100.

Harrier headlamps

Any bros here know how to turn on the small head lamp at the extreme right and left headlamp when you are facing the car bonnet.

Anyone has info if BM brining in Harrier?

 

Is Harrier hard to drive especially in Singapore's multi stories carpark? How's the drive and cornering since it is such a high car? PI don't allow drive testing.

 

What are the other considerations? Maintenance cost and etc... trading off and verse the good fuel economy

BM currently don't bring Harrier because they distribute the RAV4 (same platform, largely similar internal components, but less premium interior). Harrier has always been a JDM model and is technically not intended for our market. But if they start bringing in as rumored in last few pages, it will be a catch up play. They're only keeping to the sales charts because of the Altis, and that don't have SUV appeal, RAV4 nobody want to buy. I almost never seen even one.

 

Harrier may look tall but it is actually not really that high. It won't have any trouble with multi-story carparks, unlike Alphard, it is still shorter than an average human. What it does have is an elevated ride height, so you can mount small kerbs without damaging undercarriage.

 

Most consider Harrier drive to be relaxed type, it don't chiong, but the turbo version coming soon might be more exciting. Handling also comfortable but not very sporty.

 

Maintenance sure easy. Harrier the second most popular PI car. Stock of parts every where sure available. Fuel economy said to be decent or good for a car of its apparent size.

Talking about the LED strip or the small extreme edge reflector?

 

The reflector at the edge might be three things; either it is a static cornering light (only activate when you are turning in that direction), a static spread beam (common with many new LED headlamp designs) for wider short range coverage, or it is purely a reflector for conspicuity.

I never quite had a proper opportunity to inspect stock Harrier LED headlamps when they're on, so I can't say.

Mazda6 also not very common. Mondeo seems like less than 150 of the latest.

The Legacy is also another snowflake in today's red dot...

Electric steering, Super light, easy to manoeuvre and zero hassle at all. Maintenance Super cheap just like normal servicing at Bm Lor. The best part is superb fuel saving.

Anyone with iRoad v7 with the latest firmware v3.xx? 

My harrier iRoad v7 is link to the car battery for continuous recording when park, having parking mode but after the firmware update back in Oct if i remember correctly it will record after parking and lock for about 10min and auto switch off.

 

Everytime when start the car, iRoad v7 will read out a message "....switch off to protect the battery of your car", thus i check the battery but the battery have no issue or battery weaken etc. Is this due to the latest firmware having some sort of issue? On the previous firmware, no such issue at all. Anyway to fix this it or anyone encounter this issue on their harrier? 

 

Camera will kill the battery faster. a good battery can last around 3 years or more, with camera probably 2 years max. this is regardless of brand, or counter measures like turning off camera at certain voltage.

 

Lead acid batteries need to be kept at full charge. If a camera is constantly discharging it lifespan will shorten. the ability to hold the charge at 11.5v during ignition is very important.

 

My stock battery started to weaken after slightly a year, i set the voltage to cut off at 12v, still no use. i then changed the wiring to turn camera off when engine off. now everything ok.

I have been driving harrier for approximately 3 months now. Recently (about 2 months back) there was a rattling sound at the driver's seat belt area. I initially ignored it as it was quite soft but it got worse over time which can be both annoying and a distraction at times.

 

2 weeks back I brought it to the workshop which covers the warranty. They said they couldn't identify the exact source of the sound but they manage to fix it by removing and reattaching the panel at the driver's seat belt area. .  

 

For the past 2 weeks, all is fine again but 3 days back, the noise started to surface again. Would like to try to get to the source of the problem and fix it once and for all so can I check has anyone experienced this before or any of the more experienced drivers could give some advice?

Cause the looks not pretty, both exterior and interior compared to Harrier.

 

Forester much cheaper and has turbo option for petrolheads.

 

X-Trail cheaper and has 5+2 seats + high-specs

RAV4 is a people see no up car. Harrier somehow is not.

Similar to comment given to CHR where told to compare with the juke rather HRV or QQ. Even though pricing is more expensive than the 2.
