Red_ryder 1st Gear March 24, 2016 Share March 24, 2016 I resprayed my car last year after an accident. But I'm a lazy b**tard and don't wash my car often, so the paint is a bit faded. Quite obvious because it's black. I also didn't do any coating or waxing after the respray, wasn't even aware of such things until recently. The car is coming to 10 years old but I'm thinking of possibly extending the COE by 5 years and I want to make it look nice again. Is it possible to send it for a thorough polishing job, and then do a new nano-coating to keep it shiny? Do I need to respray? ↡ Advertisement
7hm Turbocharged March 24, 2016 Share March 24, 2016 Polishing and grooming job will help, assuming the actual color layer of the paint is still in good condition under all that grime. If the paint itself has already worn away, which might be the case with a resprayed paint job (usually less durable than the original paint), then polishing will probably just wear it out more since the clear-coat is already gone. In that case then respray will be a more dramatic change Besides a full respray though you can also consider wrapping your car
Jerrlim 2nd Gear March 24, 2016 Share March 24, 2016 even after new paint work, TS's car will look like as it was before becos TS being a lazy bum will not take care or wash his car regularly. If wrapping is done, regular washing is still required to make it lasts. Unless TS can change his habit, i would suggest to TS not to do anything and save his money. Just renew coe for 5 yrs and drive. No need wash no need take care no need sim tiah over new paint work not well maintained. 5 yrs pass by very fast and before you know it, time to scrap ↡ Advertisement
