Sorry bit lost here... so what did the act of driving the car out on stage shows anything about the self-driving concept?

 

There is still a man inside holding the steering wheel....just a fancy way to keep the fancy wheel....... nice car and paint job but still on 4 wheels.

 

Even if there is no man inside, someone can easily rig up a remote controlled car in under a day (see mythbuster).

 

What am I missing out?

Reminds me of the GINA, the way the body panel moves with the wheels.

Quite visually outlandish.

 

Chances are though that the car isn't fully programmed so they still needed a human to manuever it onto stage.

 

Even if it had its autonomous programming, current autonomous driving programs still have issues working indoors and navigating around empty spaces... e.g. a clear stage
