New Cruze 1.4T

Neutral Newbie

thanks bro for your sharing.

The steering centering becomes very annoying for me as I am quite fussy about the wheel being properly centered. It is not too serious and I am considering whether I should live with the problem till the next servicing (6 months more) or just drive down to the service centre and settle it.

Honestly, the new Cruze is very much the same as my previous 2013 Cruze, except for a few places where i suspect cost-cutting is in place. For one, my seat cushions are thinner than before and the rear seats give our squeaky sounds when moving over humps. Also, the silver trimmings seems a bit more dull than my previous Cruze (might improve over time if I continue to coat it with Armor All).

Oh, I must also mention that the Cruze turbo uses electric power steering instead of hydraulic. It is slightly lighter than the other versions, but still feels good for an electric power steering rack.

Engine department is the one that is really what urged me to change. The turbo is so much more responsive than the 1.6l version. Low-end torque is impressive and I hardly have to push the engine beyond 3000rpm.

I got mine after second bid. Basically they will not bid unless your stock has arrived. So I guess they only bid when your car is physically here.

By the way, did they throw in 3 years free servicing as well?

I exchange my freebie camera to 1 year free servicing. so i only got 1 year free servicing, mat, solar flim. that all lol. i plan to go taobao buy the shark fin antenna and replace the current one. This will make the car more grand lol.

Also was keen of the forte.....met a good se but again no money so hold first.

Ohh, Bro you mean the Kia K3? i did test drive K3 before confirming the cruze, the k3 is good in comfort, the problem is no integrated gps and reverse cam. Also i really under prower =_= even in sport mode, you will also notice their test route full of traffic light, it is design this way to prevent you from chionging.

The se threw in free head unit if I signed up for the Kia. I didn't test drive the chevy but test drove the old forte. Seem sufficient compare to my 1.4L small hatch.

Interior wise chevy is quite old fashion and plastic. But the turboooo

Actually I was toying with the idea of doing leather wrap, but it involves quite a bit of handicraft work. Was looking at the DIY kit from aliexpress.

Even without the leather wrap, I think the grip is already quite good. To make the steering wheel more attractive, just get the silver-colour plastic trim from aliexpress to paste on. I have it on my steering wheel and it looks way better, making it look like how it should be based on the US version.
