look at Ros winnings ... all his winnings are pole position to win

no one challenge him hard and he has never challenge someone to win

Hopefully this will ignite Ros's fighting form. Its good to have a different world champion.

I miss the screaming shrill of a v8 mclaren engine.....i got hook to mclaren after playing F1 on my Playstation back in the 90s. Now i stop following after watching the 2010 SG gp and the change in the engine and qualifying turned me off. Moto GP also i stopped watching when they change from the 2 stroke to the current 4 stroke engine.

actually my point is he is "not" a champion quality

look at hamilton and vettel ... they drive to win

ros need the sun, moon, star all line up nicely for him to win ... to drive from front row to the end of cheque flag swee swee ...

in my opinion Ric driving style ... the way he attack and defense is more inspired than Ros ... hehe

I agree. Besides Vettel and Hamilton, the other driver who dares to take risks and is a real racer is Alonso as well.

Rosberg is same category as Button. Safe drivers who makes less mistakes and does well only when others around them makes mistakes from risk taking which is not what racing is I feel.

total is 73k

minus local and FT in spore

real visitors from overseas is < 50k?

There are 15m tourists to Singapore in 2015 (http://www.singstat.gov.sg/statistics/visualising-data/charts/visitor-arrivals).

If I divide by 365 days, each day about 41k visitors. So did F1 really increase our tourism revenue substantially? Bear in mind we are paying the rights to the hosting, race structure, lights, fans seating, manpower for the circus, and incurred losses of productivity. 20% of my company staff took leave and MC during this period, Knn. And Iswaran is still not forthcoming with the revenue-cost data of F1.

Number of spectators a day at the Singapore Grand Prix:

2008 (inaugural race): >100,000

2015: 87,000

2016: 73,000

Our contract expires 2017. After that we have to rebid for continuing. Given the severe lack of transparency of, well, anything in this silly place, we won't know (and certainly won't have a say in) how much of taxpayer money is put up to prop up a dying horse.

Personally, I hate street circuits. I much prefer watching Sepang. It's much nicer to watch them racing in an environment that I can also legally drive fast on later, you know?

GP2 is more exciting to watch.

The Singapore F1 is just a vanity project to showcase CBD "Christmas-Tree" buildings. We can call it a street circuit or whatever, but where is the "race" in a procession more orderly than a Toyota factory?

My view is that the CEO and board of directors of Singapore Pte Ltd ("SPL") are extremely eager to continue this circus, as evidenced by the CNA reporting of dwindling spectators in the midst of contract negotiation with the new F1 owners. But after shelling out 6bn to buy over F1 from Bernie, I strongly suspect we will be ransomed to pay a higher fee for the next 5 years. As a shareholder of SPL, I can only swallow whatever they shove in and pray that they are gentle.

I also support building a dedicated race track like Sepang, but having it at Changi or Tuas will defeat the purpose of this vanity project by the SPL senior management. They prefer building the street track and dismantling every year around the CBD so that we look good in the camera. Very typical wayang mindset.
