Raining outside now, those still at air show don't know got affected or not? Looks like this time air show organizer very bad. Last week trade visitors waited 2.5 hours for taxi, and now you said bus shuttle queue is horrendous!
BanCoe Hypersonic February 20, 2016 Share February 20, 2016 Go shopping center better - at least can afford small $30-$40 things or buy Airfix toys than spend money only govts can afford to buy and get jammed up

I guess the new guy Leck Chet Lam is not on par with Jimmy Lau's flair of doing things when he took over the reins. Judging from the ground response and transportation fiascos, it reflects a lot on management and downwards.

Myxilplix Turbocharged February 20, 2016 Share February 20, 2016 In 2012 the shuttle bus service originated from the airport, no problems taking it in to the site on saturday morning. Minimal queue time, less than 5 minutes. In 2014 the shuttle bus service switched to/from singapore expo, also no problems taking it to the site on the saturday morning. Also minimal queue time, less than 15 minutes to get on the bus. This morning it took me an hour from the time i walked into expo hall 7 until i boarded the bus at the side of the hall. I know this because of the whatsapp timestamps on my phone. Somehow the handling of the buses was not efficient and the boarding process slow. Only 2 buses were being loaded at a time and it took too long from when they stopped till they moved off. It was not a matter of buses because there was a long queue of them stretching along the back of the expo halls. Every airshow my friend offers to send a car to pick me up/drop me off but i politely refuse because i don't want to trouble her. Today was the first time i agreed to letting the car drop me back at expo carpark instead to taking the shuttle bus back. The next airshow i'm going to take up her offer. Only good thing today is she sent an angmoh chiobu to pick me up from the entrance in a buggy, make me feel like a boss

tenyawph Turbocharged February 20, 2016 Share February 20, 2016 Think have seen them in the skies recently ... My guess is still operational ... Maybe in the next RSAF open house, we can still see them if they are still operational. Very old airplane, designed in the 1950s.

tenyawph Turbocharged February 21, 2016 Share February 21, 2016 I think the F5s were part of last year's NDP fly past ? Yes, they were. I believe with the full deployment of the F15SG in Paya Lebar Airbase, the F5 will be retired very soon. In a modern aerial dogfight, the F5 will be outclassed by aircraft such as Su27, Su30, F18D and F16C/D.

In a modern aerial dogfight, the F5 will be outclassed by aircraft such as Su27, Su30, F18D and F16C/D. yes, I guess its a matter of technology even though our F5s went thru a couple of upgrades. years ago I went to the RSAF open house at Paya Lebar and there was a mock attack exercise and pilots had to scramble and take off asap. the 2 F5s still needed a bit more runway while the 2 F16s were already in the air. just thinking out loud, if the US really don't want the A10s, maybe we can buy over at paper value to complement the Apaches. The RSAF did the right thing by not having many mix of different aircraft, to enjoy economies of scale. By retiring the F5, there are only 2 fighter types (F16C/D and F15SG) to maintain and there are manpower and logistic savings. Both F16C/D and F15SG are multi-role aircraft and can perform intercept and strike roles. The A10 will not be necessary. ↡ Advertisement
