Kurrypokteh 1st Gear September 27, 2016 Share September 27, 2016 Hi bros....i have managed to change my stock Kia 18" heavy rims to the replica InForged rims. I found Kim Hoe Tyre with a lot of used and new replica rims as well as almost new original stock rims which many new car owners immediately changed out as the experienced uncle there said a lot of people go to their workshop to change out those heavy stock rims for lighter after market rims. I did personally carried my stock rims and the replica rims to compare weight and the stock rims indeed much heavier. So far I have used it for 3 weeks and i am keeping a watch on the FC after changing to the much lighter replica rims. Those looking for nice after market replica rims or almost new stock rims can go Carousell search for Kim Hoe Tyres. The guy called Daryl is really efficient in his services. I watsapped him my ETA timing and once I reached he was already waiting with my rims outside the workshop like I am VIP like that. His team of 2 person including himself 3 pax took only less than 20 mins to change out my rims.
Roberttan 5th Gear September 28, 2016 Share September 28, 2016 looks like is Kia sportage, if for kia sorento one have to very careful because of your car weight (very heavy particularly the diesel engine) above rim looks nice to me sometime do ask about the rim specification like strength of the rim (can withstand the heavy load especially big MPV / SUV / diesel engine)
Kurrypokteh 1st Gear September 29, 2016 Share September 29, 2016 Yup mine is a Kia Sorento not Sportage. Its the 2011 model. Thanks bro for the advice on the rims specs to take note of. Will go and google more on the strength of this rims.
Yaloryalor 5th Gear October 30, 2016 Share October 30, 2016 appreciate if anyone could recommend 18" rims around 8-9kg/pc, pricing wise around $400/rim. thanks! I think only OZ HLT rims can fit your requirements. I also looking about same specs as you budget up to $500 per rim. Was looking at ATS, Alutec, BBS but all are about same or slightly lighter than my stock rims only.

Deckbuild 6th Gear November 1, 2016 Share November 1, 2016 If into light weight and performance, just go for CE28SL or the TE37SL. Good and strong. Anyway based on the budget most likely 16inch only.
Clue Clutched November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 Looking to change to 18" rims for my A4 too, stock is 16" which is pretty ugly imo. Just want to ask, what is considered light? To be honest, I'm in it more for aesthetics but at the same time don't want to compromise too much on acceleration and fuel economy...any recommendation for what kind of weight and budget I should have? On top of that any recommendations for matching tyre (quality & price wise)?

On top of that any recommendations for matching tyre (quality & price wise)? 18 inch 8 kgs is considered light. google for BBS if wallet permits. CI-R, CI-R II, CH-R, CH are ever green lasting designs. http://bbs.com/de/produkte.php if cheaper can go for Anzio, I'm on Anzio vision. they are made as per stock rim, same weight, but mine is 18inch. made in Europe (cheaper countries such as Poland and Czech), company is HQ in Poland, my rims are forged. Muser 4th Gear November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 (edited) 18 inch 8 kgs is considered light ... my rims are forged. Yup, forged 18" would be about 8kg. Cast 18" wheels would be 11-12kg. For example, stock MY16 Subaru Legacy 2.5i-S BN9 18" cast aluminium alloy wheels (OEM by Enkei) weigh 11.3kg. How heavy are your forged Anzio 18"? Clue Clutched November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 To be honest, I checked out BBS and its severely out of my range...though the designs were pretty appealing. Is a 2.5k budget for rims and tires good enough? Or should I expect more...
Clue Clutched November 3, 2016 Share November 3, 2016 Went to Leong Seng Tyres...was quoted BBS SR + bridgestone potenza for 2.2k. Need advice on whether rim/tyre is good and price justified.
Altis72 3rd Gear November 4, 2016 Share November 4, 2016 Went to Leong Seng Tyres...was quoted BBS SR + bridgestone potenza for 2.2k. Need advice on whether rim/tyre is good and price justified. I like the design of BBS SR but I believe its heavy (around 12kgs?). Which potenza tyres are you getting? RE003?
Clue Clutched November 5, 2016 Share November 5, 2016 I like the design of BBS SR but I believe its heavy (around 12kgs?). Which potenza tyres are you getting? RE003? Went back today with a friend who knows his stuff and got a pretty good deal. Found a 2nd hand but really mint prodrive gc-05k set and paid around 3k in all for them plus assy3 tires. Keithchue 5th Gear November 5, 2016 Share November 5, 2016 Yup, forged 18" would be about 8kg. Cast 18" wheels would be 11-12kg. For example, stock MY16 Subaru Legacy 2.5i-S BN9 18" cast aluminium alloy wheels (OEM by Enkei) weigh 11.3kg. Is a 2.5k budget for rims and tires good enough? Or should I expect more... 2.5k, u can't get BBs for this price range, BBs starts about 400 per rim, tyres, factor in about 1000, u r looking at close to 4K, unless u have trade in. most chope don't take trade in. but mine does and was traded on less than 10Km from the showroom. ↡ Advertisement
