Vin3663 1st Gear February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 Dear all car lovers, Would like to seek some advise here on what am experiencing now. My car IU unit suddenly turn with Green Light "Hard On". Even with cash card removed and engine power off. Is there a way to perform a Hardware reset to the IU unit ? Or I have to send to the authorized workshop to get it repair / replace. Any advise to be shared will be much appreciated. Regards. ↡ Advertisement

Have you tried using it at EPS carpark?

Side note: your IU probably need "release" to solve the "Hard On"...;)

Optramagnum 6th Gear February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 I think better to go Vicom or STA inspection center to check.. They are more experienced in handling IU.

Vin3663 1st Gear February 16, 2016 Author Share February 16, 2016 Appreciate for all your prompt advises. To answer earlier queries :- 1. Yes, have tried inserting cash card in and out, Green Light still hard on with no beep sound. 2. Engine off for more than 3 hours, Green Light on IU hard on, despite engine is switched off. 3. Have not tried entering a ERP gantry car park yet to confirm if IU is readable. Thought maybe some experience drivers out there would have encounter similar issue that I have now. Thanks to all..... I am also of the view to go to Vicom to have it checked as suggested by some of the bros here. Let them check and have it on record what was diagnosed and what was done to remedy. Flying_genie 6th Gear February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 Yeah. Get it fixed at VICOM. You don't want it to malfunction when going through a carpark or ERP gentry. There's probably no charge for repairs or replacement. Just the inconvenience.
Chucky2007 Turbocharged February 16, 2016 Share February 16, 2016 Get a new I replaced at vicom. .5 year warranty claim it!!!
Soule Clutched February 17, 2016 Share February 17, 2016 The cable can be disconnect to power off - I last time also dont know until I saw the VICOM guy resetting for me. But u must take out some of the plastic parts around the dashboard below or near the seat to reveal the wires - it's not difficult to take out and dismantle but the sqeamish should not try. Vratenza Supersonic February 17, 2016 Share February 17, 2016 Out of innocent curiosity. What happens if a car with a dead IU or disconnected IU drive pass a gantry at night? Camera flash?
Vin3663 1st Gear February 17, 2016 Author Share February 17, 2016 Hi Guys... thanks for all your valuable advises. Soule is right. I went to Vicom today and he confirmed my IU hanged. But instead of fuse box (as shared by Soule), for mine, he reached out to the section below the fuse box. Where there are bunch of cables all bundled together. Took him a while to find the IU connectors. He did a hard reset (physically pulled out the connector, held for about 5 secs and inserted). All back to normal. As for reply to Vartenza, yes definitely camera will flash. Believe u can appeal thereafter with Vicom report. i physically tired entering ERP carpark, jus failed and denied entry as well. Thanks to all car lovers out there.....
