Then throw back the question to interviewer

Which would u hire? An employee with passion or without passion given same capabilities and qualification? Haha

Everyone says hire people with passion

How to really tell leh, interview is just a good 30-45 mins

Ya lo. Plus nowadays in school they even teach us how to go for interviews. I am sure many of the students answer some of the questions using a generic answer that they were taught. I think the interviewer also needs to be more creative nowadays.

Every job is different. Interview venue n technique to be picked selectively to suit the requirement in order to bring the best out the candidate for the assessment.

Banks n japan mnc are the most complex with several rounds of interview until you wish to go sign on with the army.

Last time I went 2 rounds of interviews at Japanese MNC

1st round 3 pax inside..2 kept quiet most of time. Senior guy sat in centre asked me how much time spend front home door to office door..the rest of questions nothing about work.

2 nd interview by md of sg branch...I think was less than few mins ..it ended...

Worked there for few years..met the nicest boss I had ..yes that senior guy

Mine was more...first with HR mgr then AM plus senior officer plus hr exec then briefly with the line mgr. Hired but still have to be approved by the GM himself during the last round. 3 interviews span over 3 weeks. I started to flip the classified 2nd day on the job. Sayonara to jippun corp culture forever after 2 months.

I recall when I first entered the workforce, I told the interviewer it's my passion to work in this industry. He said 'passion can å½é¥å?'

I ended the interview with some nasty words for the director.

No prizes if I got the job or not :D

Don't always think that the interviewer is being nasty in his rude remarks.

Sometimes he did it on purpose, to test your response or body behaviour. If u react well and able to reply smartly, u get the job.

Don't take everything in face value in life.

This type of rude remarks are common in sales job interviews (not limited to just sales jobs). Because sales ppl will face this kind of customers everyday. If cannot handle rude remarks, how to build relationship and sell product?

In job interviews, the most important skill u must display is the ability to think on the feet and react well.

In terms of skills and education, you are no different from the other ppl who came for the same interviews.

One of the only few ways to sive out the best candidates is to test the ability to think on the feet.

No school and no textbook will teach you this.

Can you share what happened during those first 2 days and their culture?

Heard from a friend that they have recess bell for lunch  [:(]

I got my last job because of passion.

Sometimes it's very clear one. A guy doing it for passion will go all out, because he really likes what he's doing and want to do well.

No passion then people will just do, go through the motions, the minimum level enough already.

normally, i look at their pay and expected salary to shortlist

last year, a guy didnt put down the pay, during interview then found out his current pay is too high

he wasted my time to interview him :a-bang:

Or worse keep saying market rate or negotiable . When offer what seems to be the industry market rate, he say he is getting much more. Waste time.

1 of my officer friend who after NS went for job interview.

since 0% work experience, he wanted to start by telling his experience in ns where he was handling a platoon of men.

He told me, the moment he started to say, 'I was an officer during my ns days, I ......'

The interviewer cut him out by saying, don't tell me anything about your ns life, I am not interested.

My friend was stunned and in subsequent interviews, he made it a point to only mention about his ns life if asked.

Do u feel funny sometimes...

Some interviews, you spoke so well, eloquent and smooth, everything seems perfect, they seem to like you. But, you didn't get the job.

Some interviews, you fumbled though you think you were quite well-prepared.

Some interviews, you kept mostly silent except answer a few questions short and sharp. Then the interviewers were talking most of the time or trying to elaborate your short answers for you. You end up with that job.

Recently, went to this Japanese company for interview. One of the few interviews that I wish I didn't get the job. [laugh] But, interview appointment time very zhun one.

Only seen Japanese and local companies insist candidates to submit their last payslip. [confused]

Those EU (exclude UK) and US MNCs have much better interview experience. Don't even need to fill up any forms. Some don't need to submit any certs until you are really confirmed for the job. They will take notes on your resume during interviews.  [thumbsup]  [thumbsup]
