Hear / say carries very little credence.

If the PI really didn't deliver as promised and if the car is already VITAS ready and not delivered, I am all for shaming the PI.

Past performance is no indication of future performance.

I am just glad that myself and about 20 others from our car club group got our cars from SPL without a hitch.

Some of us suffered minor delays because of LTA's goof up in the administration process but were compensated for the delays..

Compensation included being alloted higher value COE than the last 6 bids (I got a $55k COE while the market was at $48k to $50k), others got their rental cars paid / offset by SPL, etc.

Not hear say, great that you got your car..

The members in sienta group all quoted their SE names, sales price, number of guaranteed bids but in the end all offered refunded deposit.. oh, maybe its the SE faults, SPL no fault u happy?

If me, I won't let go. Insist on the car being delivered since guarantteed COE.

Get SPL to compensate or arrange for free rental car for duration of the delay.

They have done it for some buyers before.

SPL has also offered for those who have loss faith in them, refund with market rate interest.

Ultimately, choice is with the buyer.

Wah sei...some PIs realli got CRM power.

First, got power to get buyers to hv the sudden urge to sign up acct in MCF just to praise them.

Then got even more power to hv diehard fans who will dismiss other ppl's negative experiences abt the PI.

I'm sure all the ADs out there sibei jealous and wasted their $$ on staff training, customer loyalty programmes, independent satisfaction surveys, etc.

Really power.

With all these negative news about SPL...... There are still people flocking to give them money......

I am starting to wonder if there are no other PIs in Singapore.....

The reason is obvious.

Higher the risk, higher the rewards.

Majority of other PI's (competitors) treat SPL as public enemy number 1. The reason, SPL is the cheapest in the market and other PI's just can't compete.

Their neighbour Zion Auto Gallery often spread malicious rumours about SPL because they loss lots of sales opportunity as they couldn't compete on price.

I am only grateful and loyal because I got my car from SPL at $10k cheaper than the next nearest PI at the time I made my purchase in August 2017.

If want to play it super safe, should shop only from AD or the PI that charges the highest price like Cartimes, Venture, Hua Yang, etc

But no matter what the PI promises, treat purchases from PI as cars sold without warranty. Majority of the time, their assigned workshops are far weathered friend that only fleece us on service / maintenance contract.

What you are writing here is hearsay to isn't it?

And with less credulence than someone posting on a Facebook page because those people will be exposing their identity and also opening themselves up to a libel lawsuit if what they are saying is not true.

Yes. I understand the concept of higher the risk, greater the rewards.

Just like robbers choosing the biggest city central bank vs a small neighbourhood branch to rob. Which one is more likely to yield a bigger cash loot?

Buying a car should not be a game of lottery but in our obviously unregulated PI industry, it seem like luck plays a great role. Especially when you said past performance is no guranteed of future performance.

Big PI boys spreading fake news about the smaller PIs to gain market share? Do they need to? Fake news of SPL getting away with a business deal with a giant company like Uber/LCR just because of fine print clauses in their agreement? What makes you think that the individual buyers have any chance at all against SPL if the profit tide is not in their favour to renegade on a guranteed contract?

Bro those I mentioned are real cases because we did a group buy about 20-25 of us. I met and spoke to every buyer face-to-face.

No hidden agenda. Just intro them to the boss to squeeze and nego on price directly. No wasting time talking to SE who eventually go back to Cindy for decision.

All of us are still communicating thru whatapps group set up by the car club.

But now instead of talking about buying car and squeezing price, we exchange notes on JKS their assigned workshop.

I can only speak for myself and our group of 20-25 members that bought from SPL.

Some of the deals were done at a loss, some at razor thin margin of couple of hundred dollars profits, and others at the usual $4k to $5k profit margin.

Even for those that were sold at a loss, SPL delivered the cars. If there were hiccups that cause late delivery, SPL offered me and some of us the option of a refund with market rate interest compensation, subsidy for rental cars..... and others who beared with the delay, a small gratuity / compensation. Personally, I got an upgrade of my Pioneer headunit waived and am happy at the $10k savings versus the next nearest PI's pricing.

In this highly competitve business, it should come as no surprise that the PI with fat margins (Cartimes, Venture, Hua Yang, Leco, etc) bad mouth those than they can't match on pricing. Similarly AD's badmounth all PI's because they can't match pricing

I heard most of the Sientas has now been delivered albeit a slight delay.

I am certain some were sold and delivered at a Loss due to the spike in COE.

End of the day, SPL still delivered albeit the harrowing wait and delay. Small price to pay for the big savings

Yes, SPL sell at a loss a d a few hundred dollars margin..... Some even sold at a loss!?

Do you know if donations to SPL can get income tax rebates for charitable organizations?

S&P agreement or it did not happened. Just my view.

Neutral Newbie

Dear readers,

I am a new car buyer who took the risk to buy from SPL due to it's lower price. After going through the whole process, a negative one, I have decided to detail the whole episode and how the company can keep pricing so low.

I am a genuine buyer who created this newbie account to tell the whole story about this company's shady practices. If anyone doubt whether I am speaking the truth or am just a mole from a rival company, feel free to send me an email to (dean at irent.sg) or Google hangout me. I am willing to talk to you to verify that I am a true buyer.

In fact, I am now waiting for my new car which is likely going to be delayed due to the greed of the company.

I will break the story into parts...
