I always thought it was a slow-down zebra pedestrian crossing combination thing... got in AMK near the Chong Boon hawker centre right

If the stripes are white and black, I will give way to pedestrians.

If other colours, I won't give way.

Are those raise rectangular humps (not semi circular) with vertical yellow/black stripes meant for pedestrian crossings or just to slow down traffics? usually found along HDB service roads...

FYI

These are bus humps, not pedestrian crossings.

As for the kind without diagonal yellow lines, nobody knows.

This kind? According to article this hump "prioritise the right of way for pedestrians or cyclists at minor intersections and slip lanes, allowing for greater continuity of movement"

But the article also say But the new paths are not zebra crossings, which cede complete right of way to pedestrians.

So if pedestrian gets knocked down, whose fault?

Yes, I was looking for this but couldn't find it. I remember somebody posted it here last time. LTA should have made it a full zebra crossing to avoid ambiguity.

Bus humps are on main road and with the yellow sq checker at the slope side.. What in referring to are those yellow and black vertical (not diagonal) stripe along small service roads to car park or between HDB block path.

At bugis queen Street have 2 such hump. 1 is 15m before a zebra pedestrian crossing. Initially I thought the raised hump is zebra crossing and stop for the hump, and didn't stop for the zebra crossing. Stupid design

As someone on the internet was wrong (https://xkcd.com/386/), I could not sleep at night for the past 2 days.

No, I'm just kidding. But I did write in to LTA, asking whether vehicles or pedestrians have the right of way at such "crossings". Here is what LTA replied:

PS: the redundant usage of "usually" and "usual" makes me think it might be a fellow Singaporean  [laugh]

One of the raised humps with a zebra (so clear cut crossing) can be found along King's Road (just before the turn into Empress Road). I must have seen that a thousand times but it just registered yesterday after this thread. :D
