Well, constructive discussions are what we are here for; to help prevent any similar accident happening to ourselves as drivers. Peace.

Let me contribute my theory for this accident.

Body and health condition. The husband mentioned his wife went through brain tumour surgery before. Could it be relapsed? Brain tumour is known to cause sudden pass out.

It could be the woman driver health condition made her pass out and leg press on accelerator. The car accelerated toward the canal.

Forensic autopsy might be able to shed light on this.

Health condition are paramount for driver. Imagine if you leg suddenly cramp, sudden heart attack etc accident are bound to happen.

Hump or no hump, will have their own dangers la. Some carparks upslope with no hump, some cars cannot see oncoming traffic and still dash out without looking. With the hump, they'll slow down but then occasionally there will be a driver who cannot clear the hump safely.

I guess most people have no problems with the hump since its quite rare such an incident happens. The biggest problem with the hump will be cars scraping it.

Bugis Junction / Hotel Intercontinental exit at middle Road.

At least Bugis junction has more than one exit. Don't have to take the middle road one. The AMK hub one sibeh jialat. The hump right at the end of the ramp and lots of people crossing :dizzy:

Yeah man ! You're right ......back to good old manuals and that too with 4 speed as I remember some time back the 5th gear and reverse were in same position but have to pres down the gear harder down for reverse before engaging it ...... And cheaper too and manual car you control it , auto car controls the driver

When I switched from manual to my 1st auto car, I was so worried whether I could drive out from d AD office effortlessly. From then onwards, I loved auto. No sudden stall from take off and even d P drivers seems expert in taking off.
