Only difference will b if there r any takers. I unsure about conti cars, but jap cars Toyota n Honda also hold value well, esp mpv n suv type. If u looking to sell, may try pricing near dealer value first. Then c if any response next few weeks. I think another big factor is the current new car price. Even if the used car got low paper value, the 2nd hand dealers will mark up high if the new car prices are high. However, they will press the seller to take in low price due to low paper value. ↡ Advertisement

Forte3737 5th Gear January 25, 2016 Share January 25, 2016 Those who bought in 2013-2014 really lose big big On 1/24/2016 at 2:27 PM, flashbang said: Actually it is very subjective depending on the COE level at the time you buy and sell. For those who bought a B&B car during 2008-2009, they would have paid between 50-60k. They could have driven it for 5 years, then sold it for the exact same amount in 2013-2014. For those who have bought a new car in 2013-2014............... better drive until scrap.

car50 Twincharged January 25, 2016 Share January 25, 2016 Resale prices for C180 can be compared with BMW 320i Used to monitor resale of these 2 models closely side by side in 2013-2014 For the same year, C180 holds value better, esp when it comes to negotiation with dealers But with merc overtaking new car sales over BMW over the past few years, currently there are much more used cars for merc than bmw in sgcarmart, so negotiation may be different now with the new W205, the resale of W204 does suffer a bit, more than a year ago depr for a 2-3 year old one usually 16-17k plus/year now most around 15k+/year BMW basic series 316I most going for 14k+ /year now. whatever it is, a well taken care used c180 will not be short of potential buyers On 1/24/2016 at 2:08 AM, Solar said: In general, people are saying Mercs hold its value well.Using my own, it's a Jan 2011 C180 which I bought from a dealer for 140k around a year and half old.Coe was 35k.Fast forward.Taking a similar year and half C Oct 2014 below, they are selling at 147k but coe is 65k.http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=529153&DL=1013Is this the indication how Mercs are holding their value?Of course, this is disregarding low-balling from dealers. I am looking at selling price in the market.
