Threat fr Zika Virus - 1st case in SG

Hmm the first of the affected babies from last year should be born already right...

 

I remember heard from TV news few nights ago that of the 10+ pregnant women who contracted zika, quite a few had delivered babies that all don't have the 'abnormally small heads', known as 'microcephaly'.

 

Mentioned that got i think 1 miscarried, and another 1-2 terminated pregnancy for other reasons...

 

If it doesn't cause microcephaly here, then it's not a big worry...

But strange that there cluster are apart... Does that mean the mosquitoes can venture so far away? I had the impression they will stay around the same area.

 

Hope it can be contained. And fast...

It could be the mosquito lay the eggs in the canal and water flow them to another location not too far away. Another possibility is zika mosquitos have turbo flying ability [laugh]

3 preganacies not carried to term out of 10 plus seems way too high though.
