Spring Moderator September 9, 2016 Share September 9, 2016 ya, kenna the virus and recover no big deal, but imagne 1 family with a baby like that , the suffering is .......... Birth defect is lifetime and for some people, abortion is not allowed so the consequences are enormous. Dengue whilst more dangerous as can lead to death has been around for quite awhile so maybe we have become complacent so perhaps Zika is a timely wake up call for all of us. That "small head" birth defect seems to be particularly high in a certain part of Brazil as compared to rest of the World where Zika has infected so makes you wonder if there are other reasons behind this but so far no one has come up with a confirmed theory. ↡ Advertisement

Ramt Clutched September 13, 2016 Share September 13, 2016 As numbers of Zika Virus has been increasing, would wish anyone here to share any inputs about prevention along with CDC Heres my 2 cents worth of thoughts Application of Mosquito Repellent When we are out at all times reapply when necessary If mosquito repellent are out of stocks, bring a a stalk of lemongrass out Pour away any stagnant water at home Application of Biological Larvicides like Mosquito Dunks to roof gutters (Landed housing) & Mosquito killer to flower vase/flower pots or places with ponding issues to prevent mosquito breeding. http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/environment/nea-widens-anti-mozzie-ops-around-biggest-zika-cluster Don't let your area be the next zika cluster.
