HP_Lee 5th Gear September 1, 2016 Share September 1, 2016 To b specific it is not contagious on human to human, as long as there is no sexual or blood contact. It is contagious mainly due to the spread by mosquitoes. The problem is after got bitten by one, you don't know whether is one with or without the virus carrier. I think Zika is worse cos its contagious. Dengue is not. It's the real test of how prepared SG is in the face of a real epidemic. No more stupid demo, no more stupid "Drills".Looking quite grim imo and the way things are going, i think is GG liao. So how million dollar ministers? What u all got up your sleeves? It's go time. No more play play wayang, if this is not something to kick up a big fuss over, i don't know what is. SARS is actually not as scary. At least we can see the symptoms. Zika comes with mild virus to our body , but what about the brain? That part is unthinkable. SARS we can survive. I believe we can survive zika. But I fear this zika will become global phenomenon soon. Especially after Brazil oylimpic

So in short, it would attack fetus brains by preventing growth and the skull collapse inwards It would affect adult brains in ways that one will only learn after some time..... conplications ranging from paralysis to autoimmune disorders... and those are that we know of to date... Even aids seem less hostile

Lala81 Hypersonic September 1, 2016 Share September 1, 2016 Have to look at now first. How to solve zika problem. Then can talk about future. There's no way to permanently solve the problem currently. Vector control for so many years, still have dengue cases right. Climate change is also making the weather hotter, which improves mosquito natural breeding habitat. Zika is a flaviviridae just like dengue and yellow fever. Look at dengue, so many years on, the first dengue fever vaccines are only in trial, but they aren't super effective as well. I think at most, they will try to accelerate the mosquito eradication via GM mosquitos but even that will take years. Fogging is a temporary measure. mosquito also can siam haha fly away.
