Heads up display

You know some cars the insulation quite not bad and I like to blast my music. Sometimes it's very hard to concentrate to upshift with the paddle shift cos I can't hear my engine rev and looking at the rev meter is a little too dangerous.

 

 

So would like to ask any bro out there installed aftermarket HUD? possibly one that can run internally without having to plug in the car 12V charger.

I've tried it and it works.. not elegantly.. Have to turn on gps etc before you move off. I have not tried those that you can connect the obd to the phone though.

I had the Defi VSDx installed. Can set rpm limit to beep and alert you to shift.

Been thinking of getting a HUD because they look cool and are helpful. Problem is that most of the cheaper units made in China are generally unreliable.

I did make a thread discussing the subject a few months ago...

This is quite beautiful and very feature packed from the looks of it, but it's a tad pricier and a bit oversized for my taste. Wonder if they'll make a smaller version.

 

On the other side of things, my car already has a partial heads-up-display so I wonder how it'll actually look with another display...

PS: Im driving a Elantra, but was maunal stated so long if your car comes with OBD II it will work.

Got it from BMS at Ang Mo Kio. Defi stop production on this le. So whatever stock floating out there, thats it. Or get 2nd hand.
