Just returned this evening from short work trip.

Was doing routine check on vehicle that younger brother used to pick me up from airport since it felt different (and borrowed when I was away); to my horror it is now fitted with:

-205.45.ZR16
-Maxxis Victra I-pro UHP

Apparently last week's rescue patch did not last, and he decided to change all four to the above at KH yesterday after 7pm.

Stock was:
-185.55.R16
-Bridgestone Turanza ER370
-26k mileage
-one rear tyre patched twice, once 07'15 once last week.

Sorry if this sounded like a rant, the only time I saw this brand was when watching EPL on those advert billboards.

- Anyone remotely possibly using these with feedback to share?
- He swiped supp card total $600, at $150 a piece, ripped off?
- He did not check load index, any chance I can do a swap with top up if I go back to WS?

Just done with interrogation:

 

- did not get kumho was told made in china versus this made in thailand

 

- did not bargain more since WS waited for him to show up after 7pm, 1 worker per tyre

 

- chose it because thread seems better to repel water than say Mich PS3

 

Gonna go for a drive to let off steam and maybe clear some carbon..

Bill comes to me; he's in uni so I supped him during freshman year.

 

Not gonna be too nice to squeeze him of that 600 since he only borrows the car once in a while? :dizzy:

185.55.R16 to 205.45.ZR16

 

not the best fit but can at least you get more stability and traction on the roads.

just beware treadwear rating is only 240 due to softer compound

205.50.R16 will be a closer fit

Will bear that in mind for the next change after 40k or whenever luck runs out and I hit some nails, it's a done and dusted deal.

 

Driving with them last night and this morning seems decent, road noise minimal but that would probably increase with mileage.

The reviews seems pretty decent. Try to feel the "goodness" of the tires instead of finding fault in them? Maybe you might grow to like it after a while.. Cheers!

Thanks bro, told myself to not be hung up over Taiwan brand and let the overall experience do the talking.

 

Did not deal directly with KH this round, so shall not go too much into it.

IF YOU ARE on stock rim with 185/55/16 I wont not want to use 205/45/16 of any brand

the stock rim width 6 or 6.5 wide is to narrow for 205/45/16 tyre

do note that is NOT always wider is better

Only believe in getting a same Size and better tire 

NOT believe in getting bigger tire but lower Quality tire

Tires are only 4 contacts btw you and road [thumbsup]

Off topic a bit, I used to use PS3 and feel that its good. Later on, due to upgrading of rim size and i used westlake tires. Most ppl said china brand cmi. But personally I felt that the westlake is actually on par with the PS3. 

 

So to each of his own. You might be pleasantly surprise!  [laugh]

Bro stock was 83H and new is 87W.

 

83H - 487kg with speed capability not exceeding 210 Km/h

87W - 545kg with speed capability not exceeding 270 Km/h

 

While it seems an improvement, it was up to me I would have gotten back the exact as stock.

 

Too late now, unless I would like to burn more money.

care to share what car you are driving?

 

Seems like the increase in size is quite big to me from 185 to 205.

 

Bro just a humble Honda City 2014.

 

That extra 20mm will mess up speedo and odo readings somewhat.

i think just keep to the speed limits. and drive first. No point wasting the money since it has been charged to your supplementary card. Enjoy the more planted grip and slightly higher FC.

 

If you mileage is high, this tyres can be easily worn out in a year plus?
