Of course he needs to be nice & understanding,he is selling something over $150k,not $1.50,he is earning a Thousand in commission,& is selling a "Lemon" [lipsrsealed] ,with so much worry with its DSG,+poor Service Centre attitude.....You signed the Dotted line & your car take delivery, that it...any future problems with your car,he will just say..."Go to my Service Dept, they will settle for you"... [furious]

Just serviced by an exception se at MacPherson branch. Name is rex 91391706. Thought I spam his number here (no benefits to me but he really went all out to served me. ) . He so so attentive to me and did not hard sell. Very patient with me and recommended me what I wanted.

If he ever asked , just say Nick recommend him.

I thought this is the standard procedure for all AD. If any problem with the car, of course the service department will take care lah.

The SE is a salesman only, what you expect him to do? LOL

hi THREAD STARTER,

how is your driving of passat b8 so far?

i am considering passat as well, which 1.8T at 140k  2.0T at 166k, prefer 2.0T due to wet 6DSG. I am worry of dry 7DSG

would happy  to receive any suggestion.

another option is go for BMW 5, but it is going to launch new gen. i think need to wait for another 15 month, if it launch at Paris Otc.

Hi Intildc,

If I am not wrong, the Passat is the most well equipped car in that price range.

I am driving the Passat 1.8 highline. Been driving 5 months plus and ~8500km on the clock, 7DSG so far so good.

Before that, I was driving the Volvo S40 2.4NA.

Just curious, how you get 140k for 1.8T and 166k for 2.0T?

I was checking the latest price list, and saw the prices listed as 144,800 for the base 1.8T comfortline and 172,800 for the 2.0T Exclusiveline. Usually the prices quoted are pretty net. U mean can shave off 4.8k and 6.8k from the list price respectively?

Yes. VW resell value is terrible.

I bought it in Dec. At that time, COE was 60k. I got it at 155k.

Do u feel the steering wheel and seat flutter when the engine is idie When I tested b8 2.0 6dsg before accelerating.

Is this normal

After 10min drive. It won't flutter any more when engine is idle. SA said it is becoz engine is still cold need to warn up. Is it true?

Slight vibration and increased engine noise during cold start is normal. But if it happens every time, it isn't.
